It has been brought to our attention that there may be individuals operating within the local area who do not hold the correct licences or insurance required to carry passengers for hire and reward.

Please be vigilant when booking transport and make sure you are travelling with a genuine licensed private hire or taxi driver.

Licensed drivers are required to undergo a number of checks and standards, including:

✅ Enhanced DBS checks
✅ Medical assessments to ensure fitness to drive
✅ Vehicle MOT and taxi compliance testing
✅ Appropriate hire and reward insurance
✅ Licensing authority checks and monitoring

These requirements are in place for one reason – to help keep passengers safe.

Before travelling, don’t be afraid to ask questions or check that the vehicle and driver are correctly licensed. A legitimate operator will always be happy to provide reassurance.

While a cheaper fare may seem attractive, your safety should always come first. If something doesn’t seem right, trust your instincts and do not travel.

Important Notice to All Norwich Airport Customers

Unfortunately, Norwich Airport has once again increased its drop-off charges, with the fee now rising to £8.00. Charges also apply when collecting passengers.

As a local independent private hire company, we have always tried to absorb rising costs wherever possible. However, these charges have now reached a level where we can no longer do so without affecting the sustainability of our business.

As a result, future airport transfer prices to and from Norwich Airport will need to reflect these additional costs.

To help minimise parking charges, customers arriving at Norwich Airport will now be asked to call their driver once they have cleared security, collected their luggage, and are ready to leave the terminal. Your driver will then make their way to the collection point.

This is not how we would ideally like to operate, as we prefer to be waiting and ready for you on arrival. However, this procedure will help prevent further unnecessary parking charges being passed on to our customers.

Is it trip number 3 of yesterday to Stansted Airport, or trip number 1 of today? We’ll let you decide!

With a bang-on-midnight collection, we headed back to Stansted Airport to collect a family who we had the pleasure of taking on holiday a week ago.

After what sounds like a wonderful week’s break, it was time for the journey home. Thankfully, it was a smooth and relaxing trip, allowing our passengers to sit back, unwind and, in most cases, sleep for most of the journey.

Our driver got them home safely and in good time, making for a stress-free end to their holiday.

Stansted Drop-Off Number Two Today! ✈️☀️

Today we had the pleasure of taking another new customer from Bungay to Stansted Airport as they begin their week-long holiday in the beautiful Canary Islands.

We’d like to thank them for choosing JJ’s Private Hire and wish them a fantastic holiday. We’ll be back on Friday evening to collect them and bring them safely home.

This morning’s journey presented a small challenge when part of the M11 was closed. Thankfully, our experienced driver knows the surrounding road network well and was able to take an alternative route through some lovely countryside, giving our passengers the chance to enjoy a little extra scenery along the way.

Despite the diversion, it only added around 15 minutes to the journey and, because we always allow plenty of time for unexpected delays, it had absolutely no impact on their travel plans. It’s a great reminder that road closures, accidents and traffic can happen at any time, which is why careful planning is so important.

The result? A smooth, relaxed and stress-free arrival at Stansted Airport with plenty of time to spare.

Nothing like hitting the ground running!

After a fantastic holiday, it’s straight back to business for us. No time to unpack the suitcases before we’re heading straight back to the airport for another customer journey.

On Sunday evening, we had the pleasure of collecting one of our newest customers from Luton Airport.

This journey actually started the previous week when the customer was recommended to us through Facebook and needed an airport transfer at short notice. We were more than happy to help.

Our driver, Michael, collected the customer and took them to Luton Airport, ensuring they arrived with plenty of time before their flight. Then, on Sunday evening, Michael was back at the airport ready and waiting for their return, providing a smooth, comfortable, and stress-free journey home.

It’s always rewarding when new customers choose us based on recommendations, and we’re delighted we could deliver the reliable service that JJ’s Private Hire is known for.

It’s been a very busy week for JJ’s Private Hire while Heidi and I have been away on holiday.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our drivers, passenger assistants, and office team who have kept everything running smoothly in our absence. Your hard work, dedication, and professionalism have ensured that our customers continued to receive the reliable service they have come to expect from us.

From school runs and local journeys to airport transfers and everything in between, you’ve all done a fantastic job, and we are incredibly grateful.

But now the holiday is over… and we’re back!

While many are enjoying the Bank Holiday sunshine, it’s still business as normal here at JJ’s Private Hire.

Today has been all about getting our vehicles cleaned, checked, fuelled and fully prepared for another busy week ahead, with several airport runs booked as the school holidays begin and families head off for a well-earned break.
