Lawfield parents/Carers,

How many of you know where the nearest defibrillator is available from if heaven forbid your child needed one while they were at school......

The Answer..... Scotmid.

On Monday I found this out the hard way when Mackenzie took 3 seizures at nursery and was high risk of cardiac arrest. Now in my mind it should be compulsory for all schools to have one but unfortunately this isn’t the case.

So I could sit and moan about it but doing something would make much more of a difference.

This morning I have been in to the school, spoke with some staff and PTA, general consensus is fundraising now needs to be done to raise enough money so Lawfield Primary School has there own defibrillator.

I hope it will never have to be used but those 10 mins having to retrieve the defibrillator from Scotmid and get back to the school are crucial to any person in cardiac arrest be it child or adult.
