May has been a busy one across Mid Devon — early airport runs, wedding days, station transfers and all sorts of journeys where I’ve been helping people get where they need to be without the stress.

I’ve definitely noticed more people choosing Exeter Airport for their summer holidays this year. With TUI basing two aircraft there for the season, lots of families are starting their trips closer to home rather than travelling further afield. Those early-morning Exeter departures have certainly become a familiar part of my month.

There’s been a steady mix of Bristol Airport runs too, along with regular journeys to Tiverton Parkway and a lovely group trip down to the Sidmouth Jazz Festival in the sunshine.

Wedding season has properly started now as well. It’s always a privilege being trusted with those important moments — making sure guests arrive on time, keeping things running smoothly in the background and taking a little pressure off the day for people.

☀️ It’s definitely feeling more like summer out there this Bank Holiday weekend!

As lovely as the sunshine is, don’t forget to keep hydrated, take it easy in the heat where you can, and check in on older relatives, neighbours and pets too 🐶💧

The roads are already looking busier across Devon, so if you’re travelling anywhere this weekend, allow a little extra time and stay safe. It’s also worth taking some extra water with you in the car just in case of traffic delays or breakdowns in the heat.

Great to see Exeter Airport expanding its summer routes ✈️🌴

Two TUI aircraft now based at Exeter means even more choice for local travellers flying from Mid Devon this summer.

I’m actually on my way to collect passengers arriving back from Zante now — one of the big advantages of flying local is being home so much quicker after landing.

Exeter Airport really is becoming an increasingly convenient option for Mid Devon travellers.

What a morning! We’re celebrating the arrival of our second based TUI aircraft for the summer season ✈️🌴

It was exciting to see two TUI planes parked side by side on the apron. This morning, passengers jetted off to Zante and Lanzarote, and this afternoon, the planes will head out to Dalaman and Palma de Mallorca.

A few new people have joined this page recently, so I just wanted to say hello properly.

I’m Nick, owner and driver of Devon Transfers Private Hire.

Before launching Devon Transfers, I spent 20 years working within the aviation industry, where planning ahead, communication and attention to detail were simply part of everyday life. A lot of that naturally carried over into how I now run my private hire service.

Day to day, it’s just me behind the wheel — handling bookings, planning journeys and making sure people get where they need to be comfortably and on time.

A lot of the journeys I help with are important ones:
airport departures, weddings, family occasions, train connections and late-night returns home.

For me, it’s never just about the drive itself. It’s about helping people feel organised, reassured and able to relax knowing their journey is properly planned.

Running an independent business means every booking and every interaction matters — and I never lose sight of that.

Last weekend I was helping with transport for a local wedding here in Mid Devon — coordinating guest journeys, timings and late-night returns to help everything run as smoothly as possible on the day.

Afterwards, the bride described me as “a calming presence” and said that “everyone in our wedding party raved about him”.

One of the bridesmaids also mentioned how “super prompt” and “communicative” the service had been, along with the care taken during the journeys themselves.

Honestly, comments like that mean a lot.

Since starting Devon Transfers Private Hire back in March 2024, one thing has always stayed the same — I’m here to offer a reliable, personal, pre-booked service for people across Willand, Uffculme, Cullompton, Tiverton and the surrounding villages.

Over time, the business has grown, and I want my social media to reflect more of what Devon Transfers is really about day to day.

So you’ll start to see a slightly more personal side to my posts — more real journeys, more local places and more of the calm, dependable service that the business has been built around.

I’m not a big company with multiple drivers or a fleet of vehicles. It’s just me — personally planning and managing every journey from first enquiry through to drop-off.

I don’t try to cover everywhere, and I’m proud to focus on providing a calm, reliable service within the local area I know well.

An early start this morning transporting the bride-to-be and bridesmaids to Upton Barn & Walled Garden for what I’m sure will be a very special day ahead 💍
