Congratulations to the winning team! 🏆
Another successful day yesterday at Argyll Bowling Club with the annual Edith McFadyen Triples.
First off the club would like to show its gratitude to Charles McFadyen and McFadyens Transport for the continued support of the competition every single year. We truly appreciate your generosity and continued support. Thank you.
Secondly, thank you to all the members who played, with a good turn out of 30 players allowing the Match Secretary to have two sections of 5 teams. The eventual winners of Group A were Malcolm Maguire, Gordon Graham and Ben Smith. Winners of Group B were Alan Sinclair, Richard Tavendale and president Donnie McCrimmon.
The final was played on rink 2 with Malcolms team taking a commanding lead of 8-1 after 5 ends. On the 6th end Alan's team scored a 3 to take it to 8-4 playing the last end. Alan's team scored a 2 in the last end taking the final score to 8-6 to Malcolm, Gordon and Ben.
Well done to Malcolm, Gordon and Ben, you all played exceptionally well throughout the day and in the final!
President Donny and vice president Gary Grumoli presented the prizes, along with Charles and his daughter Eva, to the winners and runners up and also thanking Bobby Mathieson for the way the green was playing, Gavin McLachlan for running the competition and all the persons who helped behind the bar.
Thank you to Cafe Bluebell for providing a delicious lunch buffet, also donated by McFadyens Transport and last but certainly not least Gerry and Roxanne Docherty for the exceptional chicken curry at the end of the day.
We hope everyone enjoyed the day and continue to support the club events as mentioned by Donny and Gary.
