The northern footway on Lee Bridge between Heath Street and Aberdeen Street is closed until 30 September 2024 to facilitate highway and footway improvements as part of the A457 improvement scheme. A pedestrian diversion is in place, via the southern footway.

PLEASE NOTE: Works on the A457 Dudley Road improvement scheme are now progressing over Lee Bridge.

The northern footway on Lee Bridge between Heath Street and Aberdeen Street is closed from 17 June to 30 September 2024 to facilitate highway and footway improvements. These works form an important delivery phase of the wider A457 improvement scheme which will create enhanced pedestrian, cycle and highway infrastructure. A pedestrian diversion is in place via the southern footway to facilitate pedestrian and cycle access across Lee Bridge.

Schoolchildren from across the city have gathered at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum today for a special event marking .

The pupils are learning about changes they can make to improve air quality, and have put together their own Clean Air Charters.
