Community Comes Together for Ayr Taxi Day Out to Blair Drummond Safari Park
In a heartwarming initiative, Ayr’s taxi drivers are rallying together to make a difference for underprivileged children and young carers across South Ayrshire.
The Ayr Taxi Day Out, an annual event aimed at bringing joy and respite to those who need it most, is set to treat young people to an unforgettable day at Blair Drummond Safari Park.
Organisers are seeking community support to help make the day a reality, with all proceeds directed towards funding the trip and supporting Whiteleys Retreat, a local therapeutic retreat.
Whiteleys Retreat is a charity providing critical therapeutic respite for children and young people affected by life-altering illnesses.
By partnering with Whiteleys, the Ayr Taxi Day Out is not just offering a day of joy but contributing to ongoing support that helps families and young carers facing immense challenges.
“Every penny donated will go towards ensuring that the children experience a day full of excitement and joy, free of charge,” organisers shared on their GoFundMe page.
Rodney Harris said, “This cause holds deep significance to us, and every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated.”
The Ayr Taxi Day Out embodies the spirit of community, uniting local businesses, residents, and drivers with a common goal to create lasting memories for children and carers who often bear heavy burdens at a young age.
Organisers invite all those who can contribute to show their support through the GoFundMe campaign, where donations can make a tangible impact on both the safari day trip and Whiteleys Retreat’s mission.
Community members are encouraged to lend their support, helping to make this day a memorable experience and a beacon of hope for many in South Ayrshire.
