Meet Sarah 👋

Sarah is our Head of Accounts at Allied Group, with nearly four years of experience with the company and a strong background across all areas of the finance department. As a part-qualified accountant, she’s hoping to complete her studies this year - a fantastic achievement alongside her busy role.

In the office, Sarah keeps everything running smoothly within the accounts department but she also enjoying working alongside Noeleen to plan our social events - helping make sure there’s always something fun in the calendar.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys travelling and socialising with friends and family. Sarah is a mum to a 2-year-old little boy!

Sarah is a valued member of the Allied team, and we’re grateful for all she does.

Allied is growing, and our brand is growing with it.

Since 2017, Allied has evolved from a transport consultancy into a business that supports customers across customs, freight, and compliance. Brexit changed the world of trade, and we changed with it. Now, new regulations like CBAM are shaping what comes next.

To reflect how we work today and where we’re heading, we’re introducing three specialist divisions under the Allied Group:

• Allied Customs
• Allied Freight
• Allied CBAM

Each division brings deeper focus, clearer expertise, and stronger support for our customers, while staying true to what Allied has always stood for.

You’ll start to notice updates to our branding, email addresses, and website, but it’s still the same Allied team, with the same people, values, and customer-first approach.

This isn’t a change in who we are. It’s a step forward in how we support businesses navigating cross-border trade.

The Border Target Operating Model as set out by the UK Government, is the next stage to be introduced, the requirement for Safety and Security declarations to be made for all entries into GB from the EU.

Non-Qualifying NI goods moving from Northern Ireland/Ireland to GB, further checks will also come into effect on October 31st.

These will include document and risk-based identity checks on:
- Medium-risk animal products
- Plants and plant products
- High-risk food and feed of non-animal origin from the EU

Ireland: Dispelling the myths

Last week Stephen McAneney had the pleasure of attending an event run by the Northern and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. With his years of experience, Stephen gave attendees valuable insights on navigating the world of customs clearance!

Stephen answered many questions from delegates of customs, ensuring everyone left with a clearer understanding of how to manage customs procedures effectively.

One guest summarized Stephen’s presentation saying, "Stephen has managed to clear my foggy cloud of confusion in a 20-minute segment."
