Uber is applying for a Booking Office Licence to operate in Fife.

This is a serious development for local taxi drivers and operators, and it’s important that the trade makes its voice heard.

EFTA will be submitting a formal objection — and from tomorrow we will also be publishing an online objection template that drivers and operators can sign, which will automatically be lodged with Fife Council.

Objections must be submitted by Friday 20 February 2026.

The directors of St Andrews Taxis and Big Yellow Taxi Co.; James and Linda have recently taken over the East Fife Taxi Association ([email protected]) to campaign on a range of issues affecting the taxi trade in North East Fife.

Their initial campaign is calling for the removal of vehicle age limits, and they have sent out the following email (attached) to all councillors on the Regulation and Licensing Committee.

They will be developing a website shortly and anyone interested in supporting EFTA campaigns can email [email protected]
