As we are all aware, it’s a very worrying and uncertain time for all.

Here at KG Auto, we are currently still open for business as usual and will remain open until the government says otherwise.

We are taking extra measures to ensure we come into contact with as few people as possible.

We have decided to offer a pick up/ drop off service for ALL customers.
- Your key can be left in a safe place for us to pick up your car and then return, meaning no contact for us all.
-Keys/ and anywhere else in your vehicle we touch
will be thoroughly sanitised and cleaned.
-online payments of your invoices so no cash is handled between us.

If we can help you with anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us.

For those of you who don’t know, this photo shows a cambelt which has completely lost its teeth.

Last week, we recovered a customers car after them breaking down.
The AA had told them that the flywheel had come loose.. (we knew this would not be the case).

Our initial thought was cambelt and how right were we...
After 120,000 miles of no cambelt change this is exactly what happens. Unfortunately causing internal engine damage.

Please always stick to your manufactures recommendations on cambelt change intervals.

If you are unsure of when it needs changing, please just give us a call and we can tell you.

This week, a customer brought his BMW, e92 to me with a DPF fault. After many failed attempts at other garages- he brought it to me.

The other garages had all tried doing a forced regeneration, which should only ever be considered at last resort.

After checking over the car, there were multiple faults- glow plugs, swirl flaps and many sensors.

Here at KG Autocare, we worked our way through the list of faults and carried out a full clean of the DPF, EGR and inlet mannifold.

With just a short journey down the road, the DPF regenerated (by itself) due to all other faults being corrected.
It turns out- the DPF was not at fault so IF the other garages had of gone ahead, it would not of been a successful fix.
