I once went to a trade show in Glasgow of all places and someone told me to take a sharpie. The plan was to write down on peoples business cards all about your conversations with them so you could prompt the email follow up.
I had a sharpie today but it was one of those massive nibbed ones so I've now covered all these lovely corporate connector cards with black ink that I can't read..

We move on.

We did a show today.
Took a stand to chat about the project, celebrate all things Derby Taxi and more..

Look, am I gonna chuff on about how legendary it was? Honesty here?
It wasn't terrible. And it wasn't life changing. It was what it was.

I'd say it was like, an oven pizza.
You kind of know what you are gonna get. Not M&S, but not Farmfoods..

Learning moment?
Pop up banners cover the fact you are in front of the toilets and EVERYONE is a little hesitant taking jelly snakes from a stand in front of the loos. Don't forget your banners.

These things are all about who you meet and what your intent was. It was a nice way to spend the day and there was a great bunch of dudes to spend it with.

Was there a bazillionbusiness people? Nope.
Did I have truly inspiring convos about the potential of Derby Cars - Driven by Derby with some people that seemed to be as excited as I was about the whole thing as I was?
Yep.

Why would I download the derby cars app?

So the Derby Cars- Driven by Derby app is a 100% local private hire 'Uber style' App that ONLY connects you to Locally licensed Derby drivers. App bookings, traceable drivers, full info and easy processes.

We really feel that locally licensed Derby drivers are in general, deliver a higher level of customer service, build trust in the industry and over all, are great for the city, so we put our money where our mouth is and got the ball rolling.

When you book a ride with us, you get drivers details, vehicle details, car colour, make, reg plate etc so you know you are in the right place.

THE ONLY WAY to book a private hire driver is via an Operator.

This is what a Wolverhampton licensed private hire vehicle looks like from the back. It is NOT a Hackney. They cannot street pick. No robots on their plates usually, but a yellow rectangle plate.

If you get a ride with the DC app. You will know what vehicle you are looking for IN ADVANCE of arrival so no matter what certain out of town drivers say.. You will know who is her for you. Your Nan, your son, your daughter, your missus are in great hands with locally licensed Derby Drivers.

Passengers are safe, official complaints are in progress but these complaints have to go into Wolverhampton not Derby.

Derby photographers, we need you! Paid commission to shoot your city 📸

Photographers of Derby. We need you.

Derby Cars – Driven by Derby is a brand new, fully app-based taxi* service built for local people.

If you’ve used “that other app” (you know the one…), you’ll know the issues. Inconsistent pricing, out-of-town drivers, lack of local knowledge… and don’t get us started on driver conditions!

We’re:
✔ 100% app-based, book, track and pay from your phone
✔ 100% local owned, managed and driven in Derby
✔ Only Derby-licensed drivers every single time

Now we need someone to help us show that properly.

We’re looking for a local photographer to shoot editorial-style images with us, out and about in Derby, real streets, real drivers and real moments.
You have to be fast, willing and know the town.

Clean, engaging and proudly local. That’s the brief.

What we’re after:

* Editorial / lifestyle photography style
* Strong eye for natural, engaging shots
* Derby-based (non-negotiable, we’re serious about local)

If you’ve got an hour or two and fancy getting out shooting, we’d love to hear from you.
