The first summer transfer and the first summer review. Feedback such as this is incredibly important to small businesses such as ours.
Now I just need to get TripAdvisor to switch our company name from Taxi Morzine to Transport Citadelle. Work in progress and another thing on my overwhelming admin list with the rebranding!

We take great pride in sharing information with our clients to help you all get your holiday off to a great start. From restaurant, bar, shops and bike/ski hire recommendations to more random things like which market stall sells the best cheese, our favourite weather apps and which walking routes have water troughs!
We DO NOT have paid partnerships with any suppliers. We simply advise you on what we feel would suit your family or group of friends.

As you may know the world’s leaders are heading to Evian in a fortnight for a little shindig which risks impacting transport in the region. In 2003 it was the G8 in Evian which had zero effect on my life at the time as I was busy dealing with two under-3’s in an unprecedented heatwave. This year it is the G7 as Putin has been kicked off the Whatsapp chat group and it is being held the 15th, 16th and 17th June. Major transport disruption is forecast in the Geneva-Léman-Bas Chablais area from 10-19th June and we will be taking this into serious consideration when organising your airport transfers.

What can we expect?

-Systematic controls at road border crossings

- More traffic travelling through the 7 main border crossings due to the other smaller border crossings being closed.

- Congestion, VIP motorcade interruptions and rerouted traffic around the airport on main access roads.

- Temporary airspace restrictions which should not affect commercial flights directly, but this could mean slot restrictions, delays and tighter security in the airport.

- Anti G7 demos in Geneva City centre causing road closures and rerouting (at the time of writing this is planned on June 14th on the right bank/United nations side of the city)

What are we doing about this?

- I am monitoring all local news sites and official French and Swiss channels of information.

- Departures during the G7 dates will be brought forward significantly from our standard pick up times

- As always at Transport Citadelle – communication with our clients is the key.

So please don’t shoot the messenger. I too believe this shindig could be easily conducted on Teams instead of disrupting our little corner of the world.

When we first set up our taxi service as a limited company in 2008 we chose the very generic name of Taxi Morzine. The name was simple and it worked, a licensed taxi service operating out of the resort of Morzine. As the years have gone by and our business has grown we have made the decision to rebrand our company to Transport Citadelle.
So why the change of name when Taxi Morzine worked?
Firstly the name doesn’t fully reflect what we do anymore. Despite still owning a taxi license we no longer operate at the taxi rank and do not do medical transport which many French taxis do on a year round basis.
Secondly the name is too impersonal and we are finding that other companies holding a taxi license and operating in the area can easily use the two key words “Taxi” and “Morzine” resulting in confusion and some of our clients were inadvertently booking elsewhere.
Why Transport Citadelle?
Our name is pretty unique (I will maybe do a little piece about the origin of our surname at a later date) and we want to use it to avoid confusion with other companies. Now we really are what it says on the tin – Jo and Yannick Citadelle, offering a top notch transport service.
Apart from the name, nothing has really changed.

From miserable weather and ridiculously low temperatures (that threatened my pear tree which is the only thing that successfully grows in my garden), the sun is out and it’s hot,hot,hot.
After a few days in the office dealing with French administration (if you know, you know) my brain is frazzled and I am looking forward to a relatively quiet long weekend. If I have to reset another password and negotiate with another chat bot called Sarah, I will have a serious meltdown.
The Big Taxi Morzine announcement is still bubbling away but will now be revealed on Tuesday. I forgot there was yet another bank holiday on Monday!
So “Bon weekend tout le monde” and don’t forget to watch this space 😉
