Joining Forces – Aerowest Group acquires Businesswings Luftfahrtunternehmen GmbH

In January 2026 Hannover based Aerowest Group acquires Kassel based cargo charter specialist Businesswings from Sovereign Speed. The acquisition adds a second AOC to the Aerowest group while growing the group’s fleet to a total of 17 aircraft in operation.
Businesswings is renown for their exceptional cargo charter services for decades and has positioned itself as integrated service provider – offering a wide range from on-demand charter flights to scheduled services including door-door solutions, customs clearance and handling services where required. Fully customizable and suited for the mission to be accomplished.
Businesswings has been relying on Sovereign Speeds service portfolio in the past to accommodate these added services and will continue to do so under a continued, joint strategical partnership.
Both companies, Aerowest and Businesswings, belong to the most established Aircraft Operators in Germany sharing the same values: Operational precision and reliability, customer centric solutions and the uncompromised commitment to accomplish a mission. Based on these values, both companies have shared a long-lasting partnership cooperating whenever the other could supply the adequate solution. Hence, consolidating the shared capabilities has been a strategic objective.
For Aerowest the acquisition offers significant enforcement in diversifying its range of services – from Executive Charters, Ambulance and Organ Transplantation Flights to unlimited Cargo Charter solutions. With the operational capabilities to offer true 24/7 services around the year, Aerowest is further positioning itself as the ultimate short-notice specialist: Whether critical organs, AOG support, spare parts logistics or a short notice business meeting – Aerowest is ready to accommodate the impossible: Anywhere any Time.
With Businesswings, the 1968 established Aerowest Group will grow to a total of 120 employees across Hannover and Businesswings offices in Kassel, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Besides the 17 aircraft operated across the two AOCs, Aerowest also incorporates its own Part-145 MRO facility.
In the course of the transaction, Aerowest Groups Managing Director Lars Best will return to take responsibility as Managing Director and Accountable Manager for Businesswings supported by Jörg Sickinger as operationally focused Managing Director. For Businesswings partners this reorganization of responsibilities ensures and reestablishes the continued trust - the basis the partnerships had been built upon.

Aerowest expands its fleet

Aerowest, the Hannover based executive and ambulance airline introduces another jet in December 2025. After already in May this year an additional Cessna Citation Latitude joined the company,, strenghening its fleet for executive charter flights, the airline is due to add another Cessna 560 Citation Encore+ which will be mainly used for flights with human organs and medical teams, complimenting two other Citation Encore+ already in the fleet.
This addition will further strengthen Aerowests position as Europe’s leading provider for organ transplantation flights and medical team transports bringing the fleet to a total of 14 aircraft.

Aerowest in Hannover was founded 1967 and today operates three turboprop and 11 jet aircraft, employing well over 110 staff.
