On this International Day for Women in Maritime, we celebrate the inspiring women who continue to navigate the seas with courage, resilience, and passion.

For E/C Lhe-Ann Clysdy V. Dela Rosa, life on board is a journey of growth, discovery, and determination. But it also means facing homesickness, exhaustion, uncertainty, and challenges that test both strength and self-belief. Yet beyond the hardships, she finds purpose in learning, in meeting inspiring people, and in embracing the wonders the sea brings.

“With fears and tears comes the courage to keep going.”

Supported by her family and senior officers, she continues her journey with resilience, kindness, authenticity, and excellence, inspiring other women in maritime to believe in themselves and never give up.

Six very brave young explorers visited our office on April 23rd to get a glimpse into our daily life at the Company.

Our trainees prepared an exciting and action-packed day full of fun, adventure, and the true fuel of productivity: Pizza.

Between learning about our company and getting hands-on with technical and nautical equipment from our ships, things got seriously exciting. But the real highlight? A full-on office scavenger hunt, guided by a magnetic compass.

Conclusion: no one got lost, a lot was learned, and we might have just recruited the next generation of maritime masterminds.

From company insights to market outlooks and hands-on workshops, our Senior Fleet Management Seminar brought together expertise, exchange, and forward-looking discussions.
Key topics ranged from serious illness trigger points to jamming & spoofing, fuel handling, and more — with a special thanks to Jan Poldermann (www.bluetack.org) for his valuable support on incident management with a focus on firefighting. Many thanks as well to the Phoenocean team for the seamless organization throughout.
And of course, it wasn’t all business: a fantastic gala dinner, maritime games, great conversations, and a dance floor that stayed busy well into the morning.
Already looking forward to the next one.

Guiding lights have been used in seafaring since we first worked out how to let wood float safely. Today, however, a lighthouse no longer means you’re within shouting distance of the shore.
Installed far offshore, they function as navigational aids, marking hazards and safe passages in open sea areas.

It looks like a Tetris game for big boys, but in reality a lot of planning goes into how cargo is stacked on a container ship. There are countless factors to consider, from weight distribution and destination ports to special requirements like power supply for refrigerated containers.

What appears to be a colorful stack of steel boxes is, in fact, a carefully balanced system, calculated down to the last ton, keeping global trade moving across open seas.

If you compare a container ship to a living organism, the main engine would be its beating heart. And because it is of vital importance, it receives all the care it deserves.

This twelve-cylinder engine is not only a beauty to look at, it has the power to drive a 150,000-ton ship across the oceans of the world, come calm seas or heavy weather.

Our office pantry is a true hazard for anyone trying to lose a few pounds and an absolute Eldorado for colleagues who value the finer things in life.

Just look at these little pieces of art, lovingly delivered by the wife of one of our coworkers. They’re not only a joy to look at, but also a small piece of heaven once you take a bite.

So yes, always be prepared when you enter the pantry.
