Toronto Police Warn Public After Release of Convicted S*x Offender

The Toronto Police Service is notifying the public that Dave Anthoney Avis was released from prison on statutory release on May 7, 2026.

Police say Avis was convicted in Winnipeg in 2018 of:

* S*xual assault
* S*xual assault with a weapon
* S*xual assault causing bodily harm
* Three counts of forcible confinement

Authorities say he will now reside in the Toronto area under supervision by the Correctional Service Canada.

Conditions of his release include:

* Living at an approved residential or psychiatric facility
* No contact with victims
* No possession or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs
* No contact with anyone under 18 unless approved by a parole supervisor
* Reporting all relationships with women to his supervisor

Police say the public notification was issued because of what they describe as Avis’s demonstrated risk to the community, including s*x trade workers.

The London Police Service Human Trafficking Unit has laid multiple charges against a man from Scarborough following an investigation into alleged s*xual exploitation across Ontario.

Police say the investigation began on April 30, 2026, after a woman reported ongoing exploitation connected to the provision of s*xual services.

Investigators allege that between 2023 and April 2026, Jahaire Jahbari Breedy-Benons, 33, exercised control over the victim by directing where and when she worked, setting prices, managing advertisements, and communicating with clients in multiple Ontario cities.

Police say the victim later attempted to end the relationship and requested no further contact, but the accused allegedly continued attending her residence uninvited.

Authorities allege that on April 30, the suspect transported the victim to London, where a dispute occurred that resulted in damage to the victim’s cellphone.

Breedy-Benons has been charged with:

* Trafficking in persons
* Receiving a material benefit from trafficking
* Procuring
* Material benefit from s*xual services
* Advertising another person’s s*xual services
* Criminal harassment
* Mischief under $5,000

He was arrested by the Toronto Police Service and remains in custody.

Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims and have released his photograph as part of the ongoing investigation.

Ontario Man Charged in Online Child Luring Investigation, Police Seek More Victims

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit have charged a man from Midland following an alleged online child luring investigation.

Police say the investigation began in February after reports that an unknown individual was allegedly using social media platforms to communicate with youths under 16 for a s*xual purpose.

Investigators identified the suspect as Stanley Marion, 35, who allegedly operated several online personas, including:

* Maverick
* Yxaikir
* Ace.wilde
* AceryZero
* MaveryZero

Police say Marion was arrested on March 16 and charged with:

* Two counts of luring a child under 16
* One count of luring a child under 18

Investigators believe there may be additional victims who communicated with the accused online and say the investigation remains ongoing.

LONDON, ON — A 33-year-old Scarborough man has been charged after allegedly trafficking and exploiting a woman for s*xual services across multiple Ontario cities over a three-year period.

Police say the suspect allegedly controlled where and when the woman worked, set prices for services, managed online advertisements, and communicated with clients. Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

The Ontario Provincial Police is asking for the public’s help locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant who is known to frequent St. Catharines.

Jesse Bannon, 40, is wanted for allegedly breaching his statutory release.

Police say he is currently serving a sentence of seven years and four months for offences including intimidation with a firearm, break and enter, s*xual assault, assault, and two robbery convictions.

Bannon is described as:

* Indigenous male
* Six-foot-one
* Approximately 185 pounds
* Shaved head or short brown hair
* Hazel eyes

Investigators say he has several tattoos, including:

* “F A M” on his right hand
* A heart on his left hand
* Hockey sticks, a leaf, and a heart on his left arm
* A cross on his right arm
* Two sw****ka tattoos on his chest

Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

More Women Come Forward in Dating App S*xual Assault Investigation

Police say five additional women have come forward in an ongoing s*xual assault investigation, bringing the total number of complainants to nine.

According to the Edmonton Police Service, William McMullin, 56, is now facing 22 criminal charges connected to alleged incidents dating back to 2021.

Investigators say the case began after a woman reported being s*xually assaulted after meeting a man through dating platforms including Facebook Dating, Bumble, and Tinder.

Police allege victims were invited to the suspect’s home, where some were allegedly drugged and s*xually assaulted.

Additional charges now include:

* S*xual assault
* Administering a stupefying substance
* Assault with a weapon
* Voyeurism
* Unlawful confinement
* Criminal harassment
* Intimidation

Investigators believe offences may have occurred in both Edmonton and Calgary.

Police say McMullin remains in custody and are urging anyone who believes they may have been victimized to contact investigators.

Hamilton Police Service is asking for the public’s help locating Christopher Andrade, 36, after a warrant was issued for his detention at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton W5th Campus.

Police say Andrade had previously been charged with s*xual assault and break and enter offences and was later found not criminally responsible.

Authorities allege he failed to attend an Ontario Review Board hearing and is now wanted.

Andrade is described as:

* Hispanic male
* Five-foot-five
* Approximately 150 pounds

Police say he is known to frequent downtown areas between Hamilton and Toronto.

Investigators are advising the public not to approach him and to call 911 immediately if he is seen.

Man Charged After Surrey Shooting at Occupied Home

The Surrey Police Service says a man has been charged following a shooting at a residence in Surrey earlier this year.

Police say officers responded to reports of shots fired near 94A Avenue and 127 Street at around 2:52 a.m. on April 13, 2026.

Investigators confirmed an occupied home was struck by gunfire, though no injuries were reported.

The investigation was taken over by the SPS Extortion Response Team, which later identified a suspect vehicle and executed a search warrant at a Surrey residence with assistance from multiple police units.

Jaskaran Saroye, 27, has been charged with discharging a firearm into a place while knowing or being reckless as to whether someone was present.

Police say Saroye remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing, with his next court appearance scheduled for May 12.

Authorities have also released his photo, saying investigators believe additional witnesses or associates may have information connected to violent extortion-related activity.

Brampton Man Charged After Alleged Indecent Act at Recreation Facility

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police are seeking additional victims following an alleged indecent act involving a child at a recreation facility in Brampton.

Police say the incident happened on April 26 at a facility near Dixie Road and Balmoral Drive.

According to investigators, a child was inside a change room when an unknown man allegedly attempted to communicate with and lure the child into a stall. The child immediately left the area and returned to a parent.

Police say the same suspect was later seen outside the facility allegedly exposing himself.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick Rabideau-Blackadder, 40, of Brampton, was arrested on May 4 and charged with:

* Invitation to s*xual touching
* Criminal harassment
* Mischief
* Indecent act

Investigators say he was held for a bail hearing and believe there may be additional victims.

Police are searching for a suspect linked to a credit card fraud investigation in Pelham.

According to the Niagara Regional Police Service, the incident began on April 23 when a victim received a call from someone posing as a bank representative. The caller claimed the victim’s credit cards were compromised and arranged for a courier to pick them up.

Investigators say a man later attended the residence, collected the cards, and left in a vehicle. The victim later realized it was a scam and contacted police.

The suspect was later seen at the Seaway Mall in Welland between 3:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on April 30.

Suspect description:

* Male
* Black
* Approximately 35 years old
* Medium build
* Medium-length dreadlocks

Police say he was driving a white Dodge Journey with roof rails, a sticker on the rear window, a damaged front licence plate cover, and visible damage near the rear passenger-side wheel well.

Investigators are asking residents and businesses in both Pelham and Welland to review any surveillance footage and report sightings of the suspect or vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
