CLASS 1 AND\OR 3 DRIVER
Kirian Excavating & Transport Inc. is looking for safety conscious, hardworking, Drivers to join our team!
Kirian Excavating & Transport Inc. has been around since 1996 providing top notch transportation and excavating services for Edmonton and surrounding areas. From hazardous spill clean ups to digging swimming pools, quick hotshots to fleet relocations we are the one stop shop for our customers needs.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using cellular phones.
- Safe and courteous operation of vehicles and equipment at all times.
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, and communicate any concerns to the service manager.
- Maintain driver logs in accordance with Provincial regulations
- Ensure materials loaded on truck match paperwork description.
- Oversee and perform all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo.
- Maintain respectful and professional mannerisms with all staff and customers.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Meet all customer requirements when on their locations, including PPE, obeying signage, and loading/reporting procedures
Skills:
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Experience in loading/securing and tying down of loads to ensure safe transportation.
- Have a strong work ethic and an ability to work in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and possess a willingness to learn.
- Able to always communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
- Can easily understand and follow directions from others.
- Be able to work in a physically demanding environment, mainly outside with exposure to various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- Must have a clean and valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
- A valid class 3 driver's license with air brakes, preference will be given to those with a class 1 drivers license
- First aid certificate and forklift experience would be an asset.
- Strong communication, analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of tasks in an effective, organized manner, ability to multitask.
- Willingness to participate with an on-call system and be able to work overtime as required.
- Must be organized and able to work without direct supervision.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Experience:
Commercial Drivers License: 3 years minimum
Flat deck and equipment transportation (preferred)
Be able to pull a trailer
Body job Gravel truck experience and asset
Ability to adapt to changing conditions
Licence/Certification:
Valid class 1 or 3 driver's license and own transportation
