***Winter 2026 Schedule & New Year Eve Schedule***

Hello everyone, I want to update our schedule starting tomorrow January 1st, this schedule will run for the next couple weeks, and I will update accordingly

Sunday to Thursday - 6am to 12:30am
Friday & Saturday - 6am to 2:30am

Bookings can be made for the 5-6am timeslot, but must be made before 6pm the night before so our morning driver can be properly notified of this booking.

A reminder that we have a credit / debit card payment system that takes all major credit cards, and there are no fees applied to the card payments

Please enjoy the festivities this evening! We will be on the road until 4-5am to ensure safe transportation for everyone involved.

Good afternoon everyone, Legacy Taxi is looking for a part time driver to join our team, we are looking for a daytime driver, but having some night flexibility helps. Here are the requirements to be considered,

- Must have a Class 4 license (if you have a class 5 but need help getting class 4, providing enough driving experience, I encourage you to reach out)
- Must clear a vulnerable sector record check with the RCMP
- Provide a clean drivers abstract that's been issued no more than 7 days of the time when interviewed. (Only necessary if considered)
- Must have lived in Canada for at least 3 winter seasons (Mandatory)
- Must provide proof of vehicle insurance while in Canada for at least 2 years. (Mandatory)

Good day everyone, I have a few things to announce!

- Payment options expanded

Starting Tuesday , we can accept debit and credit card payments! No more trips to the bank to get cash. Cash payments will still be accepted, we do accept e-transfer however with the POS terminal, e-transfer payments will eventually be phased out.

- Vehicle Updates

Our current active taxi units are now equipped with GPS monitoring, tracking speed and location.

- Policy Updates

Our drivers have started to display their taxi licenses issued by the Town of Port Hawkesbury, they are required to have it on display at all times, whether it's on themselves or in the vehicle that they are driving in

- Schedule Update

As of now, our schedule is as follows

Monday to Thursday - 5am to 12:30am
Friday & Saturday - 5am to 2:30am
Sunday - 6am to 12:30am
*Edit* Scheduling is based on local bar hours, on nights where they are open later due to events where they will be open past their normal hours, we will extend those hours as well.

Any calls going out of town during the hours of us not operating, can be booked in advance so we can schedule a driver for that call.

***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, PLEASE SHARE!***

Good morning everyone, I want to pass along some news on what we are doing in the coming weeks regarding our policies.

There's been a situation over the last few days that has people concerned and questioning the integrity of the services as a whole, while this recent development did not involve us directly, our clients safety and trust is extremely important, and earning that trust requires full transparency. People have a right to be concerned and have a right to know who is transporting them, and that they are properly registered to do so.

When we advertise looking for drivers, we require them to go through a Vulnerability Sector check with the RCMP. This lets us (and the town) know that the drivers have a clear record check, and can be trusted to drive our clients in a safe manner. (A picture will be provided to show what it looks like)

The main policy we are starting ASAP, is to have our drivers display their town license when they are on shift. The typical way of doing so is having it hung up on the rear view mirror. I will be working on this over the next couple days to have this done. And I will be providing an update of an example of what it should look like when you enter one of our taxi vehicles.

Other measures will be put on place for our clients and drivers protection, including surveillance, and rate information.

We will also no longer be accepting calls from unknown numbers, any calls that come from an unknown number must provide a phone number that we can verify before accepting a trip. There are a few circumstances where it is not required, from certain groups that call from unknown numbers by default.

Any questions or concerns can be brought to my attention either via messenger (Chris Huskins) or through the new phone line I opened up last week (902-631-6320). Any feedback allows us to grow and provide exceptional services in return.

Good Afternoon everyone!

I wanted to update everyone on our basic rates within the town of Port Hawkesbury, we have lowered our rates to try to make it affordable for everyone. We did a test run starting January and we ran these rates month to month to see if we could do this for the long run, and I am happy to announce that going forward, I am keeping the lowered rates.

Here are the rates going forward, the old rates will be in brackets.

- Local Rates - $7 [Used to be 8]
- Senior Local Rate - $6 [Used to be 7]
- Return Rate - $11 [Used to be 12]
- Delivery (Within Town) - $11 [Used to be 12] + 4 for each stop / pickup.
- Delivery towards Creignish / Mulgrave / Havre Boucher / Louisdale / Lexington (or further) will not have a delivery fee (+$4) for the first 2 stops. Each stop after the second will be $4 each.

While we primarily take cash for payment, we do offer Interac E-transfer and credit card payment options as well.

Credit card payments must be minimum of $30 in order for me to process. Taxes & processing fee are applied.

We hope that these rates will be helpful and affordable & fair to everyone that use our transportation services. We want to express our thanks to everyone that trusts our staff to look after your transportation needs, and we look forward in continuing to do so in the future, as we approach our 25 years in service locally owned and operated in Port Hawkesbury and surrounding communities!

Legacy Taxi & Delivery is currently looking for another person to join our team around the beginning of May.

The driving position being offered will be part time, of 3 shifts per week, or more depending on upcoming events / bookings. Anybody who is interested must -

- Have a valid Class 4 license
- Must be able to pass a Vulnerability Sector Record check
- Must be able to prove safe driving practices by showing a clean drivers abstract. Speeding or unsafe violations in the last 5 years will not be considered. No exceptions.

Hello everyone, I am looking to hire another driver for a part time position with Harper's Taxi (Legacy Taxi). Inquiries can be sent to my Facebook messenger (Chris Huskins) if anyone is interested. This advertisement will be up until the evening of Tuesday June 16th. Here are the requirements

- Class 4 License
- While having the license is required, the more experience you have driving, the better your chances are to be hired
- Clean criminal record.
- Must have lived in the country for at least one winter season. Safe driving is paramount to everyone, and you must demonstrate safe driving methods during the good, and the worst of the climate. The more knowledge you have of the region the better your chances are to be hired.
- I am looking mainly for a night driver, but if you can work some days, that will help as well, the more flexible you are, the better chance you will have to be hired
- (When considered) Provide a clean drivers abstract of at least 5 years. No infractions, no exceptions.

When I find the person who is best suited for the job, you will be required to do the following

- Town Taxi License
-- To get this, you must get a vulnerability sector check with the RCMP, and a driver's abstract that's no more than 30 days old, and provide those documents to the town to get your taxi license.

For those who have a full Class 5 license that is interested, you will need to get an appointment with an eye doctor to do some testing, and provide those documents to the DMV to upgrade your license.
