🐾🍂 Barktoberfest is happening today at the Grand Bend Pinery Market! 🍂🐾

The market is packed with fun for dog lovers and their people. Browse more than 200 vendors, including pet treats and accessories, handmade goods and vintage finds. Meet rescue and therapy dogs, visit the Golden Kissing Booth supporting Golden Rescue, and enjoy live music, a vintage pet photo booth, an OPP K9 demonstration, buskers and food trucks!

The market is licensed, so you can sip while you shop. Vendors are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., licensed sampling runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is just $2.

We’ve got a Dabs Cabs vehicle at the market, and we’ll be there with our dogs too—maybe we’ll see you there! 🐶🐾

🏁 Grand Bend Motorplex — The Grand Bend Festival of Speed kicks off for the weekend with classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, sidecars, rally cars, British sports cars, military vehicles and displays. At the same time, the drag strip hosts the 4th Annual 660 Sportsman Nationals, featuring five races over three days.

🎻 Grand Bend Place - Centre for the Living Arts — Award-winning Sultans of String perform Friday evening with their mix of Celtic, flamenco, Arabic, Cuban, jazz and global sounds. Evening activities begin around 6:30 p.m., with the concert at approximately 7:00 p.m.

🎬 Starlite Twin Drive-In Theatre — Grand Bend — Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 7:00 p.m., with the first show around 8:00 p.m. Adults $12.50, youth/seniors $7, kids 6–13 $4, under 6 free. Sunday carload special $25. Check their latest movie schedule before heading over.

🛍️ Fall Into Grand Bend — The Chamber’s shop-local passport continues throughout October. Spend at least $10 at two participating businesses, collect your stamps and enter the weekly prize draws. It Starts At The Beach

The Grand Bend Legion — Meat Draw at 5:00 p.m., followed by Karaoke at 7:00 p.m.

Starlite Twin Drive-In Theatre — This weekend’s double features are Heart of the Beast + Fall 2 and Forgotten Island + Coyote vs. Acme. Gates open at 7:00 p.m., first movies begin at 8:00 p.m. Adults $12.50, youth/seniors $7, kids 6–13 $4, under 6 free. Sunday also has the $25 carload special.

Doors and silent auction open at 5:00 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m., live auction from 8:00–9:15 p.m., followed by live music and dancing from 9:15 p.m.–midnight. Tickets are $200 per person.

Pinery Provincial Park — Pinery Tales: Life After Death in the Woods runs from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., followed by Turtle Talk! from 2:00–3:00 p.m. at the Visitor Centre.

🚕 **PLEASE PLAN AHEAD — STAFF DAY DATE CHANGE** 🚕

We were originally supposed to be closed on **Monday, September 14**. However, because of the weather and our plans to spend the day on the water and enjoy a barbecue together, we don’t want to risk our team being unable to enjoy the day—the entire reason we decided to close in the first place.

We have therefore pushed our staff day back one day. Dabs Cabs will now be completely closed on **Tuesday, September 15**, and regular service will return on **Wednesday, September 16 at 8:00 a.m.**

This summer brought plenty of challenges, long days and busy nights, but our team continued to learn, improve and give everything they had each day. We are incredibly proud of our staff and all the hard work they put in throughout the season.

They have earned a relaxing day on the water, a barbecue, some laughs and time together as a team!

This will be a complete, full-day closure:

• Dispatch will be closed
• Our phones will not be monitored
• No cabs will be available
• No pre-booked rides or airport transfers will be available

We’ll be back Wednesday morning, rested and ready to get back to serving our community throughout the local season.

Beginning October 1, Dabs Cabs will officially open a new dispatch location between Forest and Arkona!

This means trips between Arkona and Forest, Forest and Kettle Point, and throughout the surrounding communities will no longer come with the large pickup cost associated with dispatching a cab from Grand Bend.

Whether you need transportation to a medical appointment, a ride to work early in the morning, a safe way home late at night or help with the everyday hustle and bustle of life, we’ll soon be closer and ready to serve you.

We heard your calls. We listened to what the community needs—and we’re responding.

Starting October 1, you can expect:

☀️ Our First Grand Bend Summer — What a Ride! 🚖💛

We opened Dabs Cabs in mid-February, which means this was our very first summer operating a business in Grand Bend—and it has been an experience we will never forget!

We have learned a lot, experienced a lot and worked incredibly hard throughout the season. Along the way, so many local businesses and members of the community have offered advice, supported us, recommended our service and helped spread the word. To everyone who called us, rode with us, shared our posts or told someone about Dabs Cabs: thank you. Your support has meant more to us than you know.

Labour Day weekend was busy, fun and filled with beautiful weather. Now, as we move further into September, Grand Bend begins to take on a different atmosphere. Things become a little more peaceful and relaxed, families enjoy the area and we slowly watch another incredible summer season wind down.

The kids are back in school, everyone is getting back to work and regular routines are returning—but Dabs Cabs isn’t slowing down.

We have heard the calls and listened to the needs of Grand Bend, Lambton Shores and the surrounding communities. We have exciting plans for expansion, and we’re getting ready to answer those calls in an even bigger way.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the fall and winter seasons bring—and before we know it, we’ll be gearing up to do it all again next spring and summer!
