Dabs Cabs is looking for local high school students who are interested in earning volunteer hours and getting involved in the community.

We currently have two opportunities available:

Weekly Vehicle Wash Helper
We are looking for one student to help wash our vehicles once a week at our office location. This would be a great fit for someone reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented who wants to help keep our vehicles looking clean and professional.

Canada Day Community Ambassadors
We are also looking for two students to help represent Dabs Cabs on Main Street in Grand Bend during the daytime on Canada Day. This would involve handing out water, brochures, pamphlets, and information while being friendly, respectful, and professional with the community.

These are great opportunities for high school students who need volunteer hours and want to be involved locally.

Friday, June 5

Lambton Heritage Museum
PA Day Event: Shipwreck Secrets from 11 AM to 4 PM. A family-friendly daytime event exploring local nautical history, shipwreck stories, and museum exhibits.

The Kiwi
Live music with Brian Dale from 5 PM to 8 PM. The Kiwi’s patio and backyard bar are open to non-motel guests for food and drinks.

Bad Apple Brewing Company Ltd.
Huron County Pride presents Pride Trivia Night in the Hayloft from 7 PM to 9 PM. Bad Apple is also hosting Taproom Talks: Suds & Space, with doors at 6 PM and the talk starting at 7 PM. The Summer Kitchen will be open for both events.

Grand Bend Speedway and Go Kart Centre
31st Annual Season Opener. Preliminary events begin at 5:45 PM, with main events at 8 PM. Saturday night racing officially kicks off for the 2026 season.

The weekend is shaping up with live music, food, film, markets, motorsports, karaoke, concerts, patios, pubs, nightlife, and plenty of reasons to get out around Grand Bend, Forest, Port Franks, Thedford, Parkhill, Zurich, and everywhere in between.

Friday, May 29

Start the weekend strong — Grand Bend and the surrounding area have a little bit of everything Friday night.

Grand Bend Motorplex has Friday Night Anything Goes Test & Tune from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with street cars, race cars, motorcycles, grudge runs, and plenty of action at the track.

Grand Bend Place - Centre for the Living Arts hosts Denise Pelley: The Wonder of Stevie at 7:00 p.m., bringing a full live concert experience to Main Street.

The Grand Bend Legion keeps it classic with the Meat Draw at 5:00 p.m. and Karaoke at 7:00 p.m.

Torched Brewing Company is open Friday evening until 9:00 p.m., making it a great local craft beer stop before or after your plans.

And if you’re out Port Franks way, Grog's Pub and Grill has trivia listed at 7:00 p.m.

Grog's Pub and Grill has Mark Moran listed for Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m., making it a great Port Franks/Thedford-area stop.

Dave's Pub & Grill at Oakwood Resort has Saturday night live music at 7:00 p.m.

The Grand Bend Legion is hosting its Hello Summer Dinner upstairs at 5:15 p.m., with tickets listed at $30.

Sunday, May 31

The Pinery Market runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with vendors, food, shopping, and that classic cottage-country market feel.

The Lambton Film & Food Festival continues Sunday at Kineto Theatre in Forest Ontario Theatre in Forest, with screenings throughout the day.

Important Update From Dabs Cabs

After reviewing our operations over the weekend, we found that the customer booking app was interfering with incoming phone calls and creating significant delays and backlog for our dispatch and logistics team.

Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue app-based ride bookings effective immediately.

This was not an easy decision to make, but it is the right decision for our logistics, dispatch flow, and most importantly, ensuring rides remain reliable, organized, and on time for our customers.
Going forward, all rides must be booked directly through dispatch by phone call.

Please also note: • We do not accept ride requests through Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, or other social media platforms. • We do not provide quotes through social media messages.

What a weekend. ☀️

We just want to take a moment to thank everybody across Grand Bend, Lambton Shores, and the surrounding area for the incredible support over the May long weekend.

Dabs Cabs had a phenomenal weekend, and we were proud to help keep people moving and get so many riders home safely throughout one of the busiest weekends of the year.

We also want to apologize to anybody who experienced longer-than-expected wait times. Traffic backups at the bridge were extremely intense at times and created delays throughout the area for much of the weekend. As a new local business, there are definitely learning curves that come with weekends of this size, but we are learning every single day and continuing to improve and grow from every experience.

The support from this community has meant the world to us. Thank you for choosing Dabs Cabs, supporting local, and trusting us to be part of your weekend.
