On behalf of DUMBA, I extend our deepest condolences to the people of Botswana and the Mogae family on the passing of Former President, His Excellency Festus Gontebanye Mogae.
President Mogae was more than a statesman. He was one of the architects of modern Botswana — a leader whose discipline, vision and belief in education laid the foundation for generations of young Batswana to dream beyond survival.
Many of us who are today building businesses, creating employment and taking Botswana brands onto the global stage are products of the opportunities his leadership protected and expanded. Through access to education, he gave ordinary citizens the ability to compete, innovate and believe that world-class success could come from Botswana.
At DUMBA, we recognize that brands are not built in isolation. They are built on the foundations created by leaders who invest in people. President Mogae invested in the minds of this nation, and the impact of that decision will continue to echo for generations.
As entrepreneurs and business leaders, we carry a responsibility to continue building, creating opportunities and flying the Botswana flag higher in honor of leaders like him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
