Located along the M5 motorway and managed by Prothers, this ESPORG member combines Gold-level certified security with practical services designed to support professional drivers on the road.

With 190 truck parking spaces, 24/7 on-site security, CCTV surveillance, controlled access, sanitary facilities, showers, laundry services, dining options, accommodation, fuel and AdBlue services, Balástya M5 Autohof offers both safety and comfort in one location.

The site is also looking ahead, with future plans focused on driver wellbeing, green infrastructure and new services for trucks and drivers.

🇮🇹🚛 Advancing Drivers’ Wellbeing in Italy

On 5–6 June 2026, Truck Park Brescia Est, one of Europe’s largest and most advanced secure truck parking facilities, hosted the Wellbeing Campaign Days, a flagship event of the Ewellin - European Wellbeing Initiative (Ewellin) - opened by Pier Giovanni Pisani (A4 Trading) and Alfredo Baldi (RAM S.p.A., Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport).

Dirk Penasse, ESPORG General Manager highlighted the growing importance of certified secure parking in Europe, stressing that these facilities are becoming safer, greener, smarter and more human-centred service hubs for professional drivers.
Druselia Betea Head of EWELLIN presented the Ewellin - European Wellbeing Initiative and underlined the importance of raising awareness about the challenges faced by the backbone of the transport sector: professional drivers.

Two dynamic panels moderated by Druselia Betea and Mirjam Frakulla (ESPORG) featured: Alessandro Peron (FIAP), Manuel Picardi (EFA), Isabel Prieto & Erik Ribé (Abertis), Pier Giovanni Pisani, Andrea Ballarin (PASS4CORE), Alessandro Geroli (AirPullman/SEA Milano), Luca Arosio (Milano Serravalle), and Giuseppe Dall'Asta’Asta (Interporto Bologna).

A highlight of the event was the Wellbeing Campaign Ambassador Ceremony, recognising the commitment of the Truck Park Brescia Est team to creating a place where professional drivers feel respected, supported and safe.

ESPORG welcomes a significant milestone for secure road transport in France: the inauguration of the new secure heavy goods vehicle parking facility at Saint-Hilaire-Cottes on the A26 motorway.

On 4 June, ESPORG General Manager Dirk Penasse and Delegate of the Board Frédéric Maas attended the inauguration ceremony, which brought together leading representatives from public authorities and the transport sector, including Sébastien Becoulet, Sub-Prefect of Béthune; Jean-Claude Leroy, President of the Pas-de-Calais Departmental Council; Laurent De Sere, Directeur Général of Certas Energy France; Jean-François Vigier, Director of Projects at Certas; Vincent Fanguet, Director of Operations and Customer Experience at SANEF; and Isabelle Pace, Head of Institutional Relations at SANEF.

Developed through the successful collaboration between ESPORG member Certas Energy France and SANEF, and also supported by ESPORG member Trucks'nB, the new facility offers 100 secure parking spaces featuring controlled access, full perimeter fencing, extensive CCTV surveillance, and direct operational links with law enforcement authorities. Drivers also benefit from dedicated amenities, including Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, rest areas, and vending services, helping to improve both safety and working conditions.

As demand for secure parking continues to grow across Europe, investments such as this play a vital role in enhancing security, supporting driver well-being, and strengthening the resilience and efficiency of supply chains.

Europe faces a massive shortfall in truck parking spaces — approximately 50,000 in Germany alone. Drivers often spend an average of one hour searching for a safe place to stop, leading to increased stress, higher speeds toward the end of driving shifts, and elevated accident risk.

For ESPORG's partner Guido Decker, CEO and Founder of TelarTec GmbH, solving this issue is not just about infrastructure — it’s about improving driver wellbeing and transforming the future of logistics. The company’s technology combines advanced laser detectors with intelligent software systems capable of monitoring large outdoor spaces with remarkable efficiency. “We use very few lasers to detect very large-scale outdoor areas,” Guido Decker explained. “Together, the hardware and software create a system where trucks can park much more efficiently.”

The result? Parking Capacity increases of up to 100% on existing lots, with some parking sites seeing gains as high as 150-170%, depending on the original layout.

🇸🇮 Today, ESPORG was pleased to contribute to the European Labour Authority (ELA) Information Event in Ljubljana, "Building Bridges: Understanding EU Rules in International Road Transport", organised in cooperation with the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS).

During the session "Safe and Secure Parking Area (SSPA) in Practice & Network Outlook", Dirk Penasse, General Manager of ESPORG and Druselia Betea, Head of the Ewellin - European Wellbeing Initiative highlighted how quality secure parking supports compliant rest periods, driver wellbeing, fatigue prevention and road safety. They were joined by Mirna Muženič, Head of Service Unit & Assistant Director, Port of Koper (Luka Koper) INPO, an ESPORG Member.

The event brought together key stakeholders from European Commission and EU institutions, national authorities, labour inspectorates, customs services, trade unions, and the road transport sector to discuss the implementation of Mobility Package I and the challenges faced by drivers across Europe.

Today, the transport community came together at OnTurtle La Jonquera, one of Europe’s most advanced secure truck parking facilities, for a special day dedicated to driver wellbeing.

Organised under the Ewellin - European Wellbeing Initiative and hosted by Área de Servicio OnTurtle - La Jonquera the event united industry leaders, transport professionals, policymakers, and wellbeing experts around a powerful message: “Drive Safe. Park Safe. Work Safe. Live Well.”Wellbeing Campaign

- A heartfelt Gratitude Jar activity led by Druselia Betea, Head of European Wellbeing Initiative where participants left messages of appreciation for truck drivers
