Please message me if you would like more information on how to register for the latest UK Transport in Europe roundtable, held in association with the UK Mission to the EU with DfT, on the implications of the new UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement for transport, trade and travel.
A chance to be briefed on the agreement, ask questions, discuss, and review next steps.
UKTiE’s primary objective to make future EU-UK relations as mutually beneficial as possible for the transport sector. Put simply, to make the new UK-EU relationship a success!
To achieve this, it makes sense to work together. Sharing insights, expertise, and ideas on how that relationship could evolve in the future. Exchanging best practice and securing high levels of engagement to gain the sort of influence that would be difficult, expensive or even impossible, alone.
UK Transport in Europe has for the past ten years built up a strong reputation in Brussels as the go-to organisation by Whitehall and Brussels, and we will continue our work next year to be the UK PLC ‘springboard’ to influence the EU and the global transport agenda.
Anyone who has an interest in making a success of – or simply staying informed about – the new UK-EU future relationship for transport is invited to take part.
We have an exciting, ambitious and pro-active programme of activities for 2021 so please contact me if you wish to join UKTiE, require more information, or wish to sponsor our events.
We can make it a success if we move forward together!

📢 Next Steps: UKMis & UKTiE Roundtable
Even after Britain has left the Customs Union and the Single Market, at the end of the year, UK transport will still want to maintain a constructive and informed dialogue with our European neighbours, and vice versa.
We'll still want to sell goods and services, showcase our leadership in innovation, skills and technology, and contribute to good policy making and better regulation.
So please may I invite you to participate in a number of free UK Transport in Europe (UKTiE) initiatives, which I set out below. All aim to generate opportunities for you to be part of that new UK-EU relationship, and protect and promote your interests at home and abroad.
These initiatives were generated by the roundtable we jointly hosted with the UK Mission to the EU (UKMis), and attended by over 25 leading UK transport organisations and companies. Many thanks to those of you who contributed to the development of this ambitious work programme.
First, we will reconvene once a Brexit deal is agreed, or if no deal is confirmed. We have provisionally agreed to meet via Zoom on Friday 11 December at 10:00 CET with a briefing from DfT and UKMis. Of course this may be subject to last minute changes.
Second, the UKTiE-UKMis roundtable will reconvene on Zoom on Friday 29 January at 10:30 CET to discuss with DfT and UKMis our plans for 2021.
Third, for those of you who signalled interest in contributing to the work streams on decarbonisation, working as third-country and UK-EU transport policy priorities, you should have received information by now regarding dates of the working group meetings. Please let me know if you wish to participate. It’s never too late!
Anyone who has an interest in making a success of – or simply staying informed about – the new UK-EU future relationship for transport is invited to take part. Simply message me here.
We can make it a success of our new relationship if we move forward together!
Best wishes & stay safe!

UK transport in Europe (UKTiE), Britain’s UK-EU multi-modal transport association, is busy shaping the UK-EU transport agenda for next year, with a series of policy, research and engagement initiatives agreed at our recent roundtable held jointly with the UK Mission to the EU (UKMis).
Even after Britain has left the Customs Union and the Single Market at the end of the year UK transport will still want to maintain a constructive and informed dialogue with its European neighbours, and vice versa.
2021 will mark the beginning, not the end, of a new relationship with the EU, with ongoing negotiations and discussions continuing for many years to come. If you provide good or services to mainland Europe, EU rules will still apply, and EU policy and law will continue to shape UK and global standards for many decades to come.Being party to those developments is vital in order to protect and promote your interests at home and abroad.
