Seventeen years ago, John & Sue Sherman purchased a small bus company in Tasmania’s North-West, with a fleet of just 14 buses operating local school services.

This week, Wynyard Bus Lines reached a major milestone with the purchase of its 100th bus — fleet number 114. 🚌

A proud moment for this family business, and one that reflects the support of our staff, customers and community over the past 17 years.

We’re excited to see what’s next! 💪

We loved meeting so many of our existing clients and industry colleagues throughout the event and look forward to working on our new relationships and growing touring in Tasmania!

There is an accident near Lake Llewellyn that has the road partially blocked, we are unsure if our bus can safely navigate the area.

🚌💸 FREE BUS TRAVEL!! 💸🚌

All of our school buses will be FREE starting Monday, thanks to the State Government's latest incentive.

: Buses across Tasmania will be free from tomorrow, as the state government responds to rising fuel prices.

The move covers all Metro, Kinetic, Redline and TassieLink services, plus the Derwent Ferry, until July 1 2026.

It replaces a half-price fare scheme, with future subsidies to be decided in the May state budget.

Patronage this week has surged, up more than 20% statewide on last week, as diesel prices top $3 a litre.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the measure would ease pressure on household budgets.

The announcement follows a week of growing political pressure in state parliament, with the Greens and an independent MP calling on the state government to do more to increase public transport use.

A gorgeous morning for the 10th annual Gone Nuts Adventure Run, albeit an early one! First buses in place at the Wynyard Yacht Club at 04:30 this morning to transport competitors up to Stanley for the 101km race.
