As our region grows and traffic increases, we are fine-tuning our bus service timetables to ensure every student arrives at school and home safely and on time.

We are excited to announce the launch of some new school bus routes in Tamworth, designed to make getting your child to and from school easier, safer, and more convenient.

Here’s what’s new:
👉S296: Upper Street to Oxley Vale via Moore Creek Road
This service will provide a safe and reliable journey for Tamworth Public School students living in Moore Creek Road, Windmill hills and Windmill Downs. It’s an ideal route for families in these areas looking for a dependable school bus service.

👉S297: Carthage Street to Railway Station via Moore Creek
For families living in Windmill Hill /Downs and Moore Creek Gardens a direct route from St Nicholas and Tamworth Public School to home.

👉S298: Moore Creek to East Tamworth via Verdelho Drive
Serving students in Moore Creek Gardens and Windmill downs, this route will pass through Verdelho Drive, making it an excellent option for those heading to schools. This includes a direct service to Calrossy William Cowper and McCarthy Catholic College. The afternoon service will be direct service from Calrossy William Cowper, McCarthy Catholic college, Oxley High School to Windmill Downs/Moore Creek Gardens.

👉S223: Moore Creek to Tamworth (Crab)
Morning service will now be servicing the Moore Creek Gardens and travelling via Verdelho Drive to Tamworth Public, Oxley Vale and Westdale Public Schools.

• Never drop off or meet your child on the opposite side of the road to the bus stop or call them across the road. Always drop
them off or meet them on the same side of the road as the bus stop.
• Remind your children to always wait until the bus has gone before choosing a safe place to cross the road.

🚨Attention Motorists 🚨 - we need your help to keep our children safe.

School zones are now back in force. Reduced speed limits and additional demerit points apply.

• You must also slow down to 40km/h when bus lights flash.
• Lights flash on buses to warn motorists that buses are picking up and dropping off children.
• You must slow down to 40km/h when overtaking or passing a bus displaying flashing lights.

You can help keep children safe by:
– Sticking to the speed limit and following the road rules in school zones
– Slowing down to 40km/h when bus lights are flashing
– Looking out for children crossing the road near bus stops, in school zones or along bus routes
– Giving way to buses when they merge back into traffic.
