While one of our vessels completes scheduled maintenance, we'll be running a one-vessel timetable. We expect to return to our full timetable from mid-November.

Mon – Fri: 6:05am, 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, 6:00pm

Sat & Sun: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, 6:00pm

Departs Townsville

Mon – Fri: 5:00am, 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm

Sat & Sun: 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm

With fewer weekday sailings, services may fill sooner than usual, so we recommend booking early, especially if you're bringing a vehicle.

From cheeky cockatoos and laughing kookaburras to birds of prey, shorebirds and waterbirds, Maggie is a bird lover’s paradise. 🪶
With the Aussie Bird Count happening this October, it’s the perfect time to slow down, look up and see who you can spot!

👀 TOP BIRDWATCHING SPOTS

📍 Horseshoe Bay Lagoon & wetlands – look for waterbirds including egrets, Magpie Geese and, if you’re lucky, Brolgas.

📍 Geoffrey Bay – explore around low tide for Eastern Reef Egrets, Striated Herons and other coastal birds.

📍 Nelly Bay & Marina – keep an eye out for Brahminy Kites soaring overhead.

📍 Nelly Bay to Picnic Bay – look to the skies for magnificent White-bellied Sea-Eagles.

📍 Bushland & walking tracks – listen for kookaburras, lorikeets, cockatoos and Maggie’s iconic Bush Stone-curlews.

Seasonal and migratory visitors can also appear around the island, so you never know when you might spot something a little more unusual.
