Some mountains are climbed for the view. Others are climbed for something much bigger.

This weekend I took part in the cancer Australia , joining an incredible community walking and climbing to raise awareness for people living with rare and less common cancers.

Rare cancers account for around 25% of all cancer diagnoses, yet they often receive far less attention, research funding, and treatment pathways. For many patients and their families, the journey can be incredibly uncertain.

Standing alongside so many people committed to making a difference was a powerful reminder of how important advocacy, research, and community support truly are.

Grateful to have played a small part in supporting a cause that means so much to so many.

At You’re First Care, we recognise the incredible role women play in the support workforce.

Many participants feel more comfortable receiving care from female support workers, especially for personal care, emotional support, and building trust in everyday routines. Having the option to choose who supports you is an important part of dignity, safety, and independence.

Our female support workers bring compassion, patience, and strength to the people they support every day. From helping with daily living and community access to simply being someone participants can rely on, their impact is powerful.
We’re proud to have an amazing team of women who show up with care, professionalism, and genuine heart.

Because when it comes to support, you should always feel safe, respected, and understood.

What if navigating the NDIS was simpler?

What if trusted information from the NDIS and the Quality and Safeguards Commission could be organised in a way that made answers easier to find and easier to understand?
That’s exactly what we’ve been working on.

Introducing the You’re First Care NDIS Helper!

This tool brings together trusted information from the NDIS and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, helping organise complex guidance into clear and practical answers.
The goal is simple.

Make reliable NDIS information easier to understand and easier to access.

Technology should never replace people in care, but it can help us support the community better by improving clarity, access to knowledge, and informed decision making.

This is an exciting step forward for You’re First Care, and we look forward to continuing to build tools that strengthen the support ecosystem around participants.

Great to attend the Parramatta Disability Expo today.

It was fantastic seeing familiar faces and meeting new providers working within the disability space. Events like this are a strong reminder that while we may operate different services, we’re all working toward the same goal, better outcomes for participants and their families.

Collaboration, shared knowledge and genuine partnerships are what strengthen our sector. Looking forward to continuing conversations and building meaningful relationships that support the community.

If we connected today, feel free to reach out, always open to collaboration.

Say No to Last-Minute Cancellations

Few things are more frustrating than getting ready for the day, only to receive a call saying:

“Sorry, we can’t make it.”

For many participants, cancellations aren’t just inconvenient; they are disruptive. They can affect:

- Medical appointments
- Transport plans
- Daily routines
- Mental well-being
- Social opportunities
- Personal safety

And the worst part? Often, participants are expected to provide long notice if they cancel, but providers can cancel with almost no notice at all.

That’s not fair!

At You’re First Care, reliability is one of our core values. When we commit to a shift, we take it seriously. We understand that support isn’t optional; it’s essential.

Because your time matters.
