A Legacy in Motion: A Tribute to Trevor Moore
They say that a person’s life isn’t measured by the miles they travel, but by the lives they touch along the way. For my father, Trevor Moore those two things were one and the same. Today, being the anniversary of his passing I felt it was time to share some thoughts.
Dad didn't just build a bus company; he built a lifeline for this community and family. He understood that a bus is more than just steel and tires it’s a child getting to school, a worker reaching their shift, and a family reuniting. He took immense pride in our reliability, and he lived by a standard that I still hear in my head every morning: “If you’re late, your customer is always early.” To him, punctuality wasn't just a schedule; it was a form of respect for the person standing on the corner waiting for us.
He had a unique way of looking at the world, usually through a lens of transport logic. Whenever any of us complained about waiting twenty minutes for a doctor or a dentist, he’d give us that look and drop his classic line: “Now, how long would you wait for a bus?” It was his way of reminding us that the world doesn't stop for anyone, and that time is the most valuable thing you can give someone or take away from them.
Growing up, I watched him build this business from the ground up. I saw the grease on his hands, the late nights, and the way he treated every driver and mechanic like family. He taught me that leadership isn't about sitting in the front office; it’s about being willing to pull over and help when things go wrong.
Today, as his wife Lyn, my sister Anneliese, his grandson Jack and myself run the company he poured his heart into, We feel his presence in every engine start and every route mapped out. We are honoured to carry his torch. Dad, thank you for showing us the way. I promise to keep the wheels turning and most importantly to never make the customer wait.
Your journey continues through all us maybe even into the next generation. 🤔
