Trayon Campers Australians enjoy travel, bush camping, beach camping & many other outdoor leisure pursuits and what better way than with a well appointed slide-on camper

www.trayon.com - Guaranteed Quality Slide-on Campers and Camper Trailers -Trayon is an Australian made tray-back/slide-on camper which can be mounted on the tray of a ute or on a suitable trailer. It comes in single cab and dual cab versions to suit almost any ute. Inside it has heaps of space for people as well as gear, yet it will take one person less than 5 minutes to set up! On the road – and

especially off the road – Trayon will amaze you. As it is mounted on the tray of a ute, you are not restricted by a trailer. Your Trayon will go anywhere your ute will go. That allows you to venture further into 4WD territory…and it allows you to access the growing number of National Parks that no longer permit trailers to enter. Needless to say…the towbar on your ute is available for anything you would want to tow! We invite you to expect the impossible…Trayon. No tow the way to go

5 value checks before you compare slide-on campers. Price is only part of the story — base build, essentials, access, setup time, and the bed all change the real value. Save this before you shop.

Most owners guess wrong: a slide-on camper doesn’t automatically mean a GVM upgrade. The real check is your loaded ute’s payload, tare, accessories, fuel, water, and gear against legal axle limits.

Your tray length behind the rear axle determines whether you'll scrape on steep exits. More overhang = shallower departure angle. Less overhang = better clearance on technical terrain. Measure your axle-to-tray-end distance before hitting those steep tracks.

Quick tip before you measure your tray. Most people measure the INSIDE width between rails - but camper fitment is based on EXTERNAL width. Dual cab trays are usually 1800-1850mm overall, but every manufacturer varies. Measure length, external width, and headboard clearance before shopping.

Your camper's rear overhang changes everything about how your ute handles. Anything past your rear axle creates leverage—more overhang means lighter steering and less front-end traction. Quick calculation: rear axle to tray end should stay under 60% of your wheelbase. Tray length matters just as much as payload capacity.

Measuring your tray width? Here's the spec that matters most. Slide-on campers need a flat steel or alloy tray, typically 1800-2000mm wide. Factory tubs won't work - they need a completely flat surface with proper mounting points. Know your exact dimensions before you start shopping.

Stand up or crouch for a week—which would you choose? On multi-day trips, headroom changes everything. Cooking, getting dressed, just moving around—it all becomes easier when you've got proper standing height. Your back will thank you on day five.
