The Goolwa Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is moving to the Signal Point Experience Centre in the coming months! 👏🌟

This move will support activation of the Goolwa Wharf Precinct and provide an enhanced visitor experience through integrated services within modern art, culture, and history.

Council invites visitors to see the Visitor Information Centre Pop-up at Signal Point Experience Centre during the April School holidays (Saturday 11 April - Sunday 26 April):

📅 Wednesday to Sunday, drop in anytime between 10am – 4pm
📍Signal Point Experience Centre

The full transition will be completed by the end of June 2026. 🚚

The future of the Old Post Office (current location of the Goolwa VIC) will be included as part of an ongoing broader formal review of the future of the Goolwa Wharf Precinct.

To answer last week’s teaser, Rx207 was named Dean Harvey in December 2000 to honour the former SteamRanger President of the Australian Railway Historical Society (SA) and Tours Manager, Me Dean L. Harvey OAM.

It was built by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow, Scotland, and entered SAR traffic on the 5.12.1913. (So any time she has the odd mechanical issue or whatever, make allowances. How old are your wheels?:))
