To continue to facilitate the fast-paced growth and success of Mort & Co, we are currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join our highly skilled Farmhaul team onsite at Pittsworth on the beautiful Darling Downs. In this role you will be responsible for all compliance, WHS, Auditing and reporting functions across the Farmhaul division to ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and legislative requirements in place. This role will ensure the integrity of all safety systems in place whilst mentoring and educating current workforce on the importance complying with these processes. Previous experience in compliance and WHS in the transport and logistics field would be highly advantageous

Functions of the role include:
Maintain compliance of fatigue, vehicle maintenance, mass management and load distribution for Main Roads and NHVAS standards.
Monitor, report on and make continuous improvement recommendations regarding compliance of TruckSafe standards to ensure that obligations and standards meet HVNL requirements
Auditing of all NHVR and Trucksafe Accreditation registers to maintain integrity of all information in the system.
Monitoring strict adherence to Chain of Responsibility law and the legislative requirements attached
Identify, assess, and manage risk within the Chain of Responsibility to ensure business practices and system controls are adequately met
Regular auditing to review driver speed, fatigue and working hours to ensure compliance to safety requirements for all roles on site.
Raising tickets for new GPS fleet tracking units, arranging installation of units and adding new drivers to the tracking system
Enrol and delist vehicles in relevant Intelligent Access Programs to ensure all permits and notices are tracked and issued correctly
Arranging commercial vehicle driver medicals for all onboarding drivers to ensure compliance with TruckSafe Scheme in place.
Develop and maintain Safe Work Method Statements and Safe Operating Practices to ensure compliance to all company policy and procedures.
Conduct WHS audits/inspections on all facets of the workplace.
Provide support, coordination, and advice on WHS practices, systems, and procedures within the workplace
Maintaining documentation, manuals, and registers as a part of the ISO 9001 and HVNL
Maintain accurate records of all Workplace, Health, and Safety requirements within the workplace.
Conduct Risk Assessments and drive risk control.
Maintain records, as required by administration, and as detailed by company policies and procedures
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge NHVR, NHVAS and TruckSafe operational rules and requirements including driver fatigue management, driver health, vehicle maintenance and audit requirements.
Previous experience or keen aptitude to learn Workplace, Health and Safety management techniques and tools in the Road Transport Industry.
Proven background in assessing risks and advising of opportunities for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
Self-motivated and driven
Extremely diligent with an excellent level of attention to detail
Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Highly organised and efficient in managing time and tasks
