It appears that the nay sayers are jealous of a 6 second video!🤣
I would like to expand on my last video (that was asked to be removed and i have since re evalued my reason of why it should be kept up).
Backgroumd info:
The reason CR exists is to share our knowledge for ALL rail enthusiasts and workers - both current, past and emerging and increase the skils and abilities of workers and without reducing the safety aspect- but also loosing the passion for the industry.
The context:
I was going thu my video collection and found this video where the old school driver was showing us how it was done back in the day and i could video his performace which (he agreed to) as evidence for the assessment.
To be perfectly franc, i was gobsmacked that a guy could know every nook and cranny, every speed board, signal, hill and crossing on the line- after so many years off the job and drive it like he had done just yesterday!
We had lots of positive feedback form on board crews- and i will be using this as training material just so the younger generation get to see how the other half lived.
Now to the contraversial part...
Older generations are not as teck savvy so the second person took it on his duty to keep a track of times, checknout timetables and keep on board train crew "in the loop" to help them do their job.
In my circles, team building doenst come normal to most people- it needs some TLC and tweeking. Thses guys had it down pat. They always looked out for each other, communicated and kept focus- particualry with cross calling signals and other safety crucial communication. This helps make the trip so much easer and way more enjoyable but most importantly, safe and efficient. More than that, it builds trust.
YOU CANT BE SAFE AROUND SOMEONE THAT IS UNSAFE!
This level of training can't be done in a class room.
Its trained into learners, but its up tp the learner on how they use this knowledge and new found passion for the job.
Ah, the irony of systems working for the common goal. Makes me feel all alive😜
So whats the moral to the story?
Share your stories (please dont use names or derogitory comments) for the good of the people around you, because the knowlege you have may just be the key one person needs to unlock a whole world of mystery!
Cheers and be blessed!
Jon.
