🚍We wish to advise that we have made the decision to sell our school bus business. We have had 19 years driving students to school, 8 of those being based in Oakey and have loved every minute and will miss the kids immensely.

The new owners are Robertsons Coach and Buses from Toowoomba. For all enquiries they can be contacted by calling Marisa on 0447286103 or email [email protected]. If you are unsure of your eligibility for free travel please call Translink on 46390727. If you have changed address or your child is starting or changing schools you need to complete a BTA form either online from the TransLink site or obtain a form from the bus driver the first week of travel. At this stage we believe there will be no change to the previous routes, times or drivers.

We wish the new owners all the best and thank all our past students and their parents for the joy we have received over the years.

Important Update: 50 Cent Fares and School Bus Services

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Queensland Government’s 50 cent public transport fare does not apply to our dedicated school bus services.

The discounted fare is only available on Translink’s regular public transport – including buses, trains, trams, and ferries.

If your child does not qualify for free travel under the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS), they are considered a fare-paying student. In this case, fares for dedicated school buses are calculated according to the School Transport Cash Fare Schedule, based on the distance travelled (separate rates for primary and secondary students).

🚍Due to the cyclone causing schools to be closed the only service operating tomorrow 6/3 and Friday 7/3 will be to Jondaryan State School. Unless otherwise advised normal operation for all services will resume on Monday 10/3. 🚍

A reminder to all parents, your children are to be at their bus stop AT LEAST 5 minutes before the scheduled pick up time of a morning, the buses have to run to a timetable and it is not up to the drivers to try to guess whether your child is running late or not coming at all. It is YOUR responsibility to have them at the stop before the scheduled time!

Also we have had children wanting to go to the BP. We will not be dropping children at the stop near the BP of a morning or picking them up from there in the afternoon, they are to get off and on at their school. Please make your child aware of this. Any change to a stop has to be given to the driver in writing signed by the parent or by phone call. 🚍

🚍Welcome to 2025, info for parents below:
Application forms for travel on the school bus can be completed now online from the TransLink website under School Transport Assistance Scheme, STAS, or obtain a BTA form from the bus driver on the first day of travel. You will need to complete a new form if your child is new to the bus, has changed schools or changed address. The address that the school has registered must be the same address for bus registration.
To be eligible for free transport on the school bus:
• Primary school students must live more than 3.2 km from the nearest state primary school
• Secondary school students must live more than 4.8 km from the nearest state secondary school
• Non-state school students must live more than the required distances above from both the nearest state and non-state school of the type attended. Subsidies may be available for St Monica's students.
• Travel is only free to the nearest school.

Please note: You may not be eligible even if there is a school transport bus service operating in your area. If unsure of school transport bus services in your area or your eligibility, please contact TransLink on 46390727.
It can take a number of weeks for your application to be assessed. You will be advised by mail of the outcome. If you don't meet the requirements for free travel your child may still catch the bus as a fare payer.
