Sadly, I have had to close the doors on Yarra Ranges Airport Transfers.
The pandemic definitely hit me where it hurt. Having your business rely on people travelling and having the government close the country and it’s borders has been hard for all of us, but it absolutely killed the businesses operating in this industry. Thankfully, some others survived the hellish lockdowns we endured here in Victoria, so I will leave their details here for you if you are still looking for a driver.

And as a lot of you know, I have been caring for my amazing Mum, who’s has been battling Stage 4 Lung Cance for the past 2 years. She has fought like the fighter she is, doing chemotherapy, immunotherapy and now target therapy. Unfortunately over the last 3 months she has gone downhill and has had quite a few surgeries to remove fluid from around her heart and her lungs. She is currently recovering from her 2nd heart surgery which is apparently very risky to have done a second time. She seems to be doing well but it’s definitely been a horrible 3 months, this being her 5th time in hospital.
When she’s at home, I am her full time carer, it’s been a scary time but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of you know that my mum is my hero, she’s moved heaven and hell for my sister and I since our father died when I was 6 and my sister was 3 mths old.
All I’ve wanted to do over these last 2 years is show my mum all the beautiful places I got to come and pick a lot of you up from in the Yarra Ranges or down the Peninsula, but we didn’t get see too many places after the pandemic hit.
So, one of my nearest and dearest friends started a GoFundMe page for my beautiful Mum, so we can get some things to make her feel a little more comfortable at home. We’re wanting to get her a comfy couch that reclines so she can keep her feet up, and hopefully fix the house up a little. She’s also recently started using oxygen which is quite expensive when on a pension.
I don’t expect anyone to feel that they have to donate, but will be ever so grateful if any of you do.
You can read mine, my Mum’s and sister’s story on the GoFundMe page, we don’t have any other family other than each other, and the people we call family all live interstate or regionally. My mum is not one to ask for help, but I think it’s time she gets some. We’ve already had a good amount of donations and are so so grateful for them and we will be ever so grateful if we were to receive anymore.

A stunning day with a top of 25°, topped off with a 1.30pm transfer down to Mount Eliza.

Very early start this morning, on behalf of Driven by Dan, who’s on an amazing holiday back home in the UK with his beautiful daughter.

Picked up a lovely mother and daughter, from Hampton East, who were off on an island holiday.
Sounds like a great idea getting out of the unpredictable Melbourne weather, and coming back refreshed when Spring has set in.

Sunday morning we had an early, 5am arrival that led us to a beautiful part of Melbourne, “Olinda”.
Have you checked it out?

I took some time out to take in some of the beautiful sights. I checked out the “RJ Hamer Arboretum”, which was gorgeous. It was nice to look out over the Yarra Ranges from the top.

I then checked out the view of the city and the bay when I made my way back down the mountain, it was a bit of a hazy day so the photos didn’t turn out fabulous, but you get the idea.

A bright ‘n’ early start this morning, with a 4am pick up from Narre Warren Sth.

This mornings customer was a lovely woman heading off to Brisbane on a work trip for the rest of the working week, and then her and her husband are going to surprise/trick their teenage daughter with a mini holiday over the weekend. They’ll head off to a theme park or two and enjoy their mini family break. How fun😄!

It’s been an busy week for us at Yarra Ranges Airport Transfers!
A big thank you to all that inquired and booked.

We had a few challenges with the weather, but our customers were lucky enough to fly in or out either just before the rain and wind got too hectic, or when it “took a break”. So thankfully no one experienced any of the cancellations and we were able to drive them home safely after they’d landed!

We even had a few hours with a mob of Kangaroos while sitting in the car waiting for one customer to land!

We had transfers from first thing in the AM to late in the PM. We are happy to get you home safe at sound at any time of the night, and happy to get you off on your holiday or work travel at any time of the morning.

A very early Monday with a 3.30am start this morning, from Ringwood to MEL Airport.
With an instant turn around to Boronia and straight back to the airport.

I love driving on the roads in the early mornings as you don’t have to deal with any traffic! It’s a great, stress free drive and you actually get to have good conversations with your customers.
We had a great Dad taking his 3 boys up to the Gold Coast for the week. Then a lovely couple going to Bali for 3wks for her 60th birthday. What fun!

I highly recommend heading down to Operations Road behind the airport, if you love watching the planes land.
