Last month, our Journey Makers headed to Sub Base Platypus in North Sydney for Babana Aboriginal Aboriginal Men's Group careers day, the fourth consecutive year we've been part of it. We talked with attendees about what a real career in transport looks like across all our Sydney operations and the pathways Journey Makers take to get there.

For us, All In means these conversations don't only happen this week. They're part of how we work, who we partner with and the relationships we're committed to for the long haul.

Yesterday, our Sydney team came together for a cultural weaving workshop led by Rebecca Ryan, a proud Darumbal woman from the Rockhampton region, with a Welcome to Country provided by our very own Tony Cook, a proud Bidjigal Yuin man and Journey Maker Transdev proud operator of Sydney Ferries.

This hands-on experience was a genuine privilege to be a part of, providing a fitting reminder at the outset of National Reconciliation Week that reconciliation requires showing up, engaging with community and that all of us play our part in creating a more connected future.

On Monday, everyone who stepped aboard MV Catherine Hamlin saw something that should feel entirely ordinary: a Master, an Engineer and a GPH, all women, all experts in their field.

This International Day for Women in Maritime, we're celebrating an all-female crew whose example helps show future generations that a career at sea is limited only by ambition and ability.

Two of our Journey Makers swapped their local operations for a five-day immersion in Portugal as part of On The Launchpad, a global experience across the Transdev network, to see how different cities keep transport systems moving.

Remember back in Year 9 or 10 when the questions about your future started rolling in? “What are your plans?”; “Where do you want to work?”; “What subjects are you going to choose?” Being 15 or 16, it’s likely those answers weren’t entirely clear to you just yet.

Enter Grace, Junior Engineer with Transdev proud operator of Sydney Ferries, who joined the University of Sydney’s Women in Engineering workshop at the ExploreEng! Open Day to potentially provide those answers to students in their formative years.

She spoke about her path from classroom to career and, biased though we may be, we reckon being one of the Journey Makers behind the World’s Most Beautiful Commute is one of the better routes to take. Thanks to Grace for providing some inspiration – and here’s hoping it sparked the curiosity of some of the next generation of female engineering talent.
