Wow can you believe it? Hines Transport began May 30 years ago, what started with a small 5 tonner Hino doing 3 trips transporting eggs and juice from the Mid North Coast up to Brisbane To now 10 truck and trailers, moving a wide variety of dry, chiller and frozen freight such as smallgoods, juice, eggs, oysters, fish, produce and groceries.

The Blue line represents our first original route and the red line, is the area that our trucks now traverse.

Position: Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice
Company: Hines Refrigerated Transport

Hines Refrigerated Transport is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic or 3rd/4th year apprentice to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of European prime movers, Japanese and European rigid vehicles, forklift, and other assets. We also provide an opportunity for the right candidate to upskill from a light vehicle mechanic to a heavy vehicle qualification.

As part of our team, you will work in a close-knit and team-oriented environment. We offer flexible start and finish work hours, with overtime available. You will also be rostered to work one Saturday every fortnight, and be available for after-hour breakdowns locally.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, and assemble all company equipment.
Maintain all company vehicles and assets in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
Adhere to all Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing work duties.
Accurately complete paperwork and job cards.

Requirements:

Trade qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics.
Minimum HR license preferred but not limited to.
Clear and concise communication skills.
Proven experience and competence in all aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, including refrigerated trailers, hydraulic tailgate loaders, rigid refrigerated trucks, and minor repairs on European prime movers.
Effective diagnostic skills.
Basic computer skills.
Own tools required (specialist tools provided).
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with an uncompromising approach towards Health & Safety.
