By now, most of our regulars will be aware that driver Dave Proctor was found deceased in his Flat in Katoomba on Tuesday Morning March 29. Although just 49 years old, he had several health issues and was experiencing a really bad dose of the Flu. He had attended the Hospital on Wednesday morning & had been given appropriate medication.
Although Funeral Arrangements are tentatively in place these will not be confirmed until the Coroner has completed formalities. Details will be published on this page.
Dave has been driving with us for nearly sixteen years in regular "white cabs" & was generally held in high regard, especially amongst the night owls. For the past several years he also held a Wheelchair Drivers Authority becoming well known and even more popular amongst people with disabilities & special needs.
Those who knew Dave well will regale you with the details of his varied working career. Many know amongst other achievements, that Dave was a Tennis Umpire, a Cricket Umpire, and an Aussie Rules Umpire, but did you know that Dave is a former Franciscan Brother? He was also a dedicated Sydney Swans fan & was instrumental in their LGBTI supporter group "Rainbow Swans" being officially recognised by the Club.
We extend our sympathy to his mum Stella, his brother Bernard and his sister Helen along with her family.
R.I.P. Dave, you will be sorely missed. We're sure you'll be "signing on" elsewhere!
