National Road Safety Week - Bus Safety Tip 🎗🚌

Looking out for each other makes all the difference on our roads.

When you’re driving, remember to give way to buses:
• when they’re stopped or moving slowly at the side of the road or a stop
• when the ‘Give Way to Buses’ sign is displayed
• when they indicate right
• when they’re merging back into traffic

A small moment of awareness can help keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly.

Thanks for doing your part. 🚍

National Road Safety Week - Bus Safety Tip 🎗🚌

Keeping your distance matters, especially around buses.

Try to leave at least a four-second gap when driving behind a bus. This gives you time to react if traffic changes suddenly.

Because buses are heavier, they need more time and space to slow down and stop.
Giving that extra space helps keep passengers, drivers, and other road users safe.

A little space goes a long way. 🚍🚧

National Road Safety Week - Bus Safety Tip 🎗🚌

Take extra care when moving near a bus, especially when getting off or crossing the road.

Crossing in front of a bus can be risky, as buses need more time to come to a complete stop. They also have blind spots, which means drivers may not always see you right in front or alongside the vehicle.

For your safety, wait until the bus has moved on before crossing, and always use designated crossing points where possible.

A little patience helps keep everyone safe. 🚍

National Road Safety Week - Bus Safety Tip 🎗🚌

Buses, like all vehicles, have blind spots. These are located at the front, sides, and rear of the bus.

While our drivers are trained to carefully monitor these areas, but it’s important for everyone, drivers and pedestrians alike, to stay aware around buses.

Giving buses space and staying visible helps reduce risk for everyone on the road.

Thanks for helping keep our roads safer. 🚍

National Road Safety Week - Bus Safety Tip 🎗🚌

Our drivers maintain a safe following distance to help prevent incidents, typically leaving a four-second gap between the bus and surrounding traffic.

This space allows time to respond to changing conditions. If you’re merging or entering the road, try to avoid moving into this gap where possible.

Buses need that extra room to safely slow down or stop.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe on the road. 🚍
