For more than 50 years, the Long family has proudly been part of the transport industry. Today, we're celebrating four generations of the Long family and the legacy that continues to grow.

For many years, Gay was proudly behind the wheel, helping pave the way for the generations that followed. While she has now stepped away from driving, we're excited to see Kyra stepping up, having just earned her learner's licence and preparing to continue the family tradition.

Working alongside your parents, grandparents, siblings and children is something truly special. We share the early mornings, the long days, the challenges, the laughter, and the memories that only a family business can create.

At Long & Ward Transport, we're more than colleagues—we're family. Our strength has always come from standing together, supporting one another, and knowing that no matter where the road leads, we'll always have each other's backs.

Four generations of hard work. One proud legacy. 🚛💛

Today our little 4th generation truckie spent the day learning the ropes alongside Dad, Grandad and his Uncles Anthony & Andrew.

From checking tyres and lending a hand around the workshop to watching the trucks up close, every job was taken very seriously. His smile says it all.

These are the moments that matter—passing on not just skills, but the values of hard work, respect, and pride in what you do. Whether he chooses trucking or another path one day, these memories will always be part of who he is.

We're incredibly proud of our little apprentice and grateful to see the next generation taking such an interest in our family business.
