Darwin Rural Runs

Tuesday 2nd June 2026

School services 453 and 456 will be affected by the closure of the Arnhem Highway due to a truck accident. The services will be run but will not go any further than the Adelaide River Jumping croc.

Students to be collected from there. If unable to collect students from the Adelaide River Jumping Croc, students will be returned to corresponding schools.

UPDATE: 453 has now returned to Middle Point School with any remaining students.

🚌 Litchfield Rural Show bus services

The Northern Territory Government will provide free public bus services for the 2026 Litchfield Rural Show at Livingstone Reserve, Livingstone from the Palmerston Bus Interchange.

Buses will pick up and drop off at Coolalinga Park and Ride and Noonamah Tavern on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May.

Cancelled services: Routes 70 & 71

Bus passengers are advised that the last 2 late services on bus routes 70 and 71, servicing Palmerston, have ceased from Friday 15 May 2026.

The below late services have been cancelled:
Route 70 – Palmerston to Palmerston via Driver and Moulden
Monday to Friday – departing Palmerston 8:48 pm and 9:22 pm (last bus is now 8:10 pm)
Saturday – departing Palmerston 9:15 pm and 10:20 pm (last bus is now 8:10 pm)

Route 71 – Palmerston to Palmerston via Woodroffe and Gray
Monday to Friday – departing Palmerston at 8:48 pm and 9:22 pm (last bus is now 8:00 pm)
Saturday – departing Palmerston at 9:15 pm and 10:20 pm (last bus is now 8:10 pm).

All earlier services will continue as usual.

• School route 470 will commence the dry season route from this morning.

• School route 433 will continue to follow the wet season route, not servicing Old Bynoe rd between Hopewell Rd and Reedbeds RD, Reedbeds RD between Old Bynoe RD and Leonino, or Leonino between Reedbeds RD and Hopewell RD until further notice due to water, road closures and repairs.

Welcome back to Term 2

• School route 470 will continue to follow the wet season route due to Karen Kelly Crossing out of commission.

• School route 471 will commence dry season run as scheduled servicing old Bynoe RD between Brougham Rd and the Stuart Highway

• School route 433 will continue to follow the wet season route, not servicing Old Bynoe rd between Hopewell Rd and Reedbeds RD, Reedbeds RD between Old Bynoe RD and Leonino, or Leonino between Reedbeds RD and Hopewell RD until further notice due to water, road closures and repairs.
