From Cootamundra Cabs.
We set 2 months to assess Cootamundra's needs for the present taxi service. As we have subsidised it for a long time and due to the rising costs it must support itself. 6 weeks of figures to date show it can not support itself in its present form.
We will be continuing the community transport side for the vulnerable people of our community. This will operate from 8:30am to5:00pm. The rest will be evaluated at the end of the month.
It will probably be a taxi/booked car service due to the non-payment of fares and poor attitudes of some people.
If people have constructive ideas we are open to suggestions. We have a lot of comments from people about what we should be doing, we suggest they put their opinions into action as we welcome the budding entrepreneurs, so long as they are legal.

Due to rising costs, we will be implementing a new system for the Taxi Service around Cootamundra. We have been subsidising the service around Cootamundra and can no longer do so.
We will be implementing a flat rate of $15.00 within the 50km zone. Payment will be on pick up or on a preappoved account. Your booking will be taken by a central office , where your fare can be paid in advance.
With this new change we are looking for new drivers to be paid on a wage system.
Depending on the viability, we will adjust hours of operation.
If you wish to become a driver you will need:
Passenger Transport condition (services nsw)
National criminal history check.
You will not need a Taxi licence.

Hello people of Cootamundra. We are sorry to inform you that we won't have a taxi service after 4pm today. Starting again at 7am tomorrow, due to the lack of illness and the lack of drivers. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this.
