The Department of Homeland Security has named Boston Logan International Airport one of 13 airports to provide enhanced health screening for passengers who have been to a number of European countries in the past 14 days. This declaration means CBP and CDC will perform enhanced screening of these passengers entering the United States through Boston. The Massachusetts Port Authority has been fully cooperating with our local, state and federal public health partners and is providing all necessary support. We have been following proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols in our public facilities, and reminding passengers and employees to use good health practices such as washing hands regularly, and covering coughs and sneezes.

Important change ahead! ⚠️ Be aware of the following, starting February 23:
🖐 Not permitted to touch, hold, or support device.
🛑 Handheld use not permitted at red lights or stop signs.
🌎 GPS use is permitted only if the phone is properly mounted.

Hands-Free While Driving - It's the Law starting February 23, 2020

Massachusetts law prohibits operators of motor vehicles and bicycles from using any electronic device, including mobile telephones, unless the device is used in hands-free mode.

The “hands-free” law is effective as of February 23, 2020.
Penalty for violating the hands-free law:

*1st offense – $100 fine.

*2nd offense – $250 fine, plus mandatory completion of a distracted driving educational program.

*3rd and subsequent offenses – $500 fine, plus insurance surcharge and mandatory completion of distracted driving educational program.

Drivers who are 18 and over:

*Can only use electronic devices and mobile phones in hands-free mode and are only permitted to touch devices to activate hands-free mode.

*Not permitted to hold or support any electronic device/phone.
Cannot touch phone except to activate the hands-free mode and can only enable when the device is installed or properly mounted to the windshield, dashboard, or center console in a manner that does not impede the operation of the motor vehicle.

*Not allowed to touch device for texting, emailing, apps, video, or internet use.

*Activation of GPS navigation is permitted when the device is installed or properly mounted.

*Handheld use is allowed only if the vehicle is both stationary and not located in a public travel lane, but is not allowed at red lights or stop signs.

*Voice to text and communication to electronic devices is legal only when device is properly mounted; use of headphone (one ear) is permitted.

Drivers who are under 18:
*Are not allowed to use any electronic devices. All phone use while driving is illegal, including use in hands-free mode.

*Operators may use a cell phone to call 911 to report an emergency. If possible, safely pull over and stop before calling 911.

It is illegal for any Livery vehicle to pickup passengers roadside. (with a hefty fine). With a recent r**e and theft by a limousine driver in boston. We in the professional limousine service call them "Gypsy Limousines" Most work exclusively for services like UBER and Lyft and don't have security background checks, or any training done on them.
We do the best we can as a company to keep our drivers responsible and accountable for their actions, including drug and alcohol screenings, random testing, extensive background checks, corey checks, and we also review their social media along with a private investigators check to make sure we have a good candidate before hiring full time drivers.
It's important because following rules, and being professional when people are sleepy, drinking, and just out to have fun is an important trust that our passengers place on us when hired.
