Bridge Church Warming Center Faces Critical Blanket Shortage; Community Urged to Help Immediately
Terre Haute, Ind. — As freezing temperatures settle over the Wabash Valley, the Bridge Church’s Outreach Center has issued an urgent plea for donations after running dangerously low on blankets Tuesday night.
The warming center, which serves some of the community’s most vulnerable residents, reported that its supply of clean, usable blankets has nearly been exhausted despite a steady flow of people seeking warmth.
“We are in desperate, immediate need of new or freshly washed blankets,” a center representative said. “People are still coming in, and we do not have enough to keep everyone warm tonight.”
The shortage comes at a critical time, with more individuals relying on the center for shelter as nighttime temperatures continue to fall. Without additional blankets, volunteers fear they may be unable to meet the basic needs of those seeking refuge.
Donations can be dropped off at:
Bridge Outreach Center
1209 North 19th Street, Terre Haute
Back Entrance (4th Ave & N. 19th St.)
Visitors are asked to knock on the back door (parking lot entrance) or call 812-229-8153 upon arrival.
Center leaders stress that any amount helps, and even one donated blanket can provide life-saving warmth to someone in need.
