Shame on you BVS CSD....🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
Hello, my name is Jamie Jenkins and I just saw a FB notice that the tree next to the Gatehouse is being removed tomorrow morning at 8 AM. That tree has a large nest 3/4 of the way up. Did you consult with the California Department of fish and wildlife to ensure it is not an active nesting site? A couple years ago the CSD approved tree removal higher elevations for Wildfire control and displaced several families of acorn woodpeckers and their nestlings that had to go to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers.
I am filing report with the California Department of fish and game regarding this so it is properly investigated before the tree is removed. If you move forward removing the tree at 8 AM tomorrow morning knowing Very well that what you are doing is rash and potentially illegal then you will be solely responsible. If you are moving forward to remove a tree with "damaged roots" that were possibly damaged by your trenching for a generator that no one voted for or knew about then we have a problem. The decisions that have been made recently are unacceptable and are coming from an outside person that knows nothing about the wildlife or sanctity of what is Bear Valley Springs. I expect more lead time as well as transparency and not turning off comments every time you post on FB so you don't get the feedback that is seriously needed in this community.
You need to take a pause and reschedule this tree removal until everything is done legally, rationally, and with the support of the community. Period.
If you come across a tree removal situation, you need to rethink the generator proposal. You do not have to move forward with an original plan when something this serious and important arises. Please pause and rethink.
It appears as if you are posting this as late in the hour as possible so you do not get kickback. This is very shady activity on your part.
I am sending a copy of this email to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife along with other community members and the Wildlife Coalition. You have a chance here to do the right thing by consulting the community, giving plenty of lead time, and rethinking disastrous original plans. When you know better, do better.

Four opossums released late last night. We are always in the mood for a good Melody and a good release of wildlife. These kids rehabbed well and were returned to the care, custody and control of mother nature ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to our village for making their journey complete. WHERE HAVE ALL THE PORCUPINES GONE?

Do you remember when seeing a North American porcupine around our mountains wasn’t all that unusual?

These slow moving, quiet animals once seemed to be a much more familiar sight but lately, it feels like we just don’t see them anymore. When was the last time YOU saw a porcupine in the Tehachapi area? Was it recently, or has it been years?

We’d love to hear your memories and sightings. Tell us where and approximately when but please avoid posting an exact location if the animal is currently there.Sometimes noticing what we’re not seeing is just as important as noticing what we are. ❤️🦔

🚨 $10,000 REWARD — JUSTICE FOR WENDY 🚨

Our founder is offering a $10,000 REWARD for information leading to the ARREST AND CONVICTION of the person responsible for shooting Wendy.

Today, X-rays revealed something that broke our hearts: two pellets were lodged in Wendy’s head.

Those pellets caused a devastating infection that ultimately destroyed the upper portion of her left jaw. Despite everything she endured, Wendy fought to survive. She crossed streets, searched for food, and somehow kept going while carrying injuries no animal should ever have suffered.

Today, we had to say goodbye to her.

But Wendy’s story will not end with her death.

Someone shot her.

Someone may know who did it.

Someone may have heard a person talk about shooting a coyote in the Studio City area. Maybe they saw something. Maybe they know something they didn’t think was important at the time.

We are asking you to come forward.

💰 REWARD: $10,000
For information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for shooting Wendy.

Please share this post throughout Studio City and the surrounding communities. Even the smallest piece of information could be the one that helps identify who did this.

We spent weeks fighting to save Wendy.

Now we will fight for justice for her.

She survived for as long as she possibly could.

Wendy deserved better from humanity. She deserved to live.

And whoever caused her suffering should be held accountable.

JUSTICE FOR WENDY. 🐾💔
