Jennifer Ilene (Wood) Leonetti
March 13, 1978-November 20,2023

Jennifer (Jenny) Leonetti entered her eternal home in Heaven on November 20, 2023, after a year-long courageous battle with an aggressive and fast-moving cancer. She was born to Claude and Karen Wood at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She joined an older brother, Joe, born 18 months earlier. A second brother, Josh, was born in 1981. A third brother, Jared, was born in 1984. Growing up with three brothers had its challenges, but Jenny met them all with love and grace, with a little admonishment and self defense thrown in. Playing jokes on one another was a regular part of family life, with lots of laughter in the household. Jenny loved a good prank and getting the best of one or all of her brothers was a special delight. As she got older, she was constantly trying her hand at match making, but her brothers were not impressed with her attempts to marry them off.

Growing up in Gypsum, Jenny spent many happy hours helping out on the family ranch. From her earliest years, animals were her constant companions. Her list of beloved animals included a Shetland pony, cow horses, rope horses, pleasure mounts, two miniature poodles, a couple of cow dogs who were mostly family pets, and several miniature dachshunds, along with rabbits, cows, sheep, and goats. She hated mice and snakes.

Although her animals were precious to her, she loved her family more and was always there to help them in any way she could. She relished the time she spent with them and was always a constant support that they could count on. A duty she greatly enjoyed was cooking for her brother Joe’s guide and outfitting business during hunting season. She would ride 10 miles up the mountain to hunting camp, usually with her nieces Deana and Leah, to build a fire and cook 3 meals a day for 5 days for between 8 and 10 hungry men. Her nieces called her Auntie and that was the only name the hunters knew her by. There were other cooks from time to time in other camps, but “Auntie” was always the favorite.

From the time she was born, her parents had her in church three times a week. As she grew older, she was an avid participant in youth group, church camp, Vacation Bible School, and many other church related activities too numerous to mention. At the age of five, she told her dad that she wanted to be saved. As the two of them sat on her bed they talked about the fact that believing on Jesus and trusting Him to save her was what she needed to do. That evening, she trusted Jesus to save her and has been living for Jesus ever since. She said she could always remember the day she got saved because it was Joe’s birthday.

Jenny attended first through third grade at Eagle Valley Elementary. The rest of her elementary and middle school years were spent being home schooled. At the age of 14, the family moved to Walden, Colorado, where Jenny attended and graduated from North Park High School. During her school years, Jenny was involved in 4-H, taking several projects, including cooking, sewing, showing rabbits, chickens, sheep, steers, and, her favorite, horses. She was also involved in a drill team that performed at local rodeos, as well as participating in high school rodeo, specializing in break away roping. She also would occasionally team rope, mostly with her brothers.

Upon graduation from high school, Jenny spent her next two years at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, majoring in Agricultural Business and being an active participant on the college rodeo team. Her last two years of college were spent at Colorado State University, graduating in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business. During her years at CSU, she continued to participate in college rodeos as a member of the CSU college rodeo team. After graduating from CSU, she enrolled in Maranatha Baptist Bible College where she took a one-year Bible course.

During her college years, Jenny worked at various jobs both during the school year and in the summer. While at Maranatha, she worked on a dairy farm when not in class. While at CSU, she worked at Carl’s Jr. In the summers, she worked at The Village Market in Avon as a checker. After college, she got a job as a teller at First Bank in Edwards. It wasn’t long until an opening came at the Eagle County Extension office to fill the position of 4-H agent. Jenny applied for and got the job where she spent the last twenty years. During those years, she delighted in serving the youth of the valley as they enrolled and participated in 4-H. She was tireless in her efforts to teach them life-long character-building traits and skills. As she interacted with them, she hoped and prayed that each one of them would see the love of Jesus being portrayed in her life and choose to have that same love in their life. Jenny loved them all with a sincere heart that went far beyond her duties as an extension agent.

On September 21st,2013, Jennifer Wood married Tony Leonetti. God granted them ten wonderful years of joy and blessings together as they sought to honor the Lord with their lives. They enjoyed their time together, always busy with some sort of project or activity. They loved going for jeep rides, horseback rides on the ranch on Cottonwood Pass, picnicking at the lake, camping at various locations around the state, taking care of their cows, goats, and horses, working on home and ranch improvements, going to visit family and friends while staying at Tony’s farm in Ohio, and many other activities too numerous to mention. They were also active members at Eagle Baptist Church.

One of their greatest joys was the birth of their son, Grady Angelo, who was born March 31st of this year. This little miracle of life came after ten years of Tony and Jenny longing for children only to see eight babies taken to Heaven before they were ever born. It is a comfort to know Jenny is there with them now. By May of this year, the couple had learned that Jenny’s cancer of a few months earlier had returned. After a courageous and hard- fought battle with Tony by her side, and family gathered around her bed praying, Jenny went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The final victory was Jenny’s with no more suffering, sadness, good-byes, or tears, but only joy and delight in a perfect body forever and ever. She will best be remembered for her infectious smile and her ability to bring joy and happiness to those who knew her. She will be sorely missed by a multitude of family and friends.

Surviving family members include her husband, Tony, seven and a half month old baby Grady, her mother Karen Wood, her father Claude Wood, her step mother, Peg Wood, her three brothers Joe (Britnee), Josh, and Jared Wood, her six nieces Deana, Leah, Columbine, Krisha, Savannah and Landree, one nephew, Caswell, Uncle Larry Walker, Grandma Pat Wood, her mother-in-law, Karen Leonetti, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Dean and Lois Walker, grandpa, Jack Wood, a cousin, Dani Walker, and her father-in-law, Angelo Leonetti.

Funeral services will be held in Eagle, Colorado, at the Eagle River Center on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a graveside service to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

Hello friends and family. Please pray for Jenny Leonetti. She needs it right now, very much.

Good afternoon friends and family. Jenny, Grady and me want to sincerely thank everyone yet again for the prayers, cards, gifts and flowers. We are still going through all the cards she has received! We truly believe in the power of prayer. It is more than evident that so many folks have been petitioning for Jenny in prayer, as things are happening that are very surprising to the doctors. We are overwhelmed with the love she has received. We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you. All we know to say is, THANK YOU! So, here is an update on what is going on:
Since her surgery on 15 August 2023, her recovery has been going quite well. The nurses here at Mayo Clinic are absolutely amazing. Her main surgeon ( there were three involved), Dr. Magtibay, has stated that he thinks she is about four days ahead of schedule in her recovery. He is very pleased with her progress. They were able to downgrade her from ICU, to the step down unit in less than two days. She was able to be up and walking around the nurses station in less than three days after her surgery. Considering the extent of the surgery, this is incredible. She tries to get up and walk every day, sometimes twice a day.
On Monday, they removed the NG tube, and have since allowed her a clear liquid diet. She was very excited for that! Prior, her only nutrition was via IV, and only some ice chips to keep her mouth from drying out. Her digestive system needs to rest and heal before she can tolerate anything solid. She has been craving an Arnold Palmer, and yesterday she finally got one! Sometimes it’s the little things in life we take for granted. (1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.)
Yesterday, and again today she has had a few minor complications, none of which surprised the doctors. There have been three total abscesses form in and around her digestive system. The doctors have said this is completely normal, and happens often with this type of surgery. The solution was to perform a relatively minor procedure where they heavily sedate her, and then use radiology to guide a drain tube into the abscess and allow it to drain.
All in all, everything is going well. For those of you who believe in prayer, I personally request the following prayers for our Jenny Leonetti:
•Continued rapid healing so treatment can resume as soon as possible
•No setbacks to delay the healing process or expedient discharge from Mayo
•For peace and understanding. She is good spirits, but that does not mean that there are not times where it can be mentally overwhelming. There is a lot going on.
•That when treatment does resume, it will be very effective in wiping out what cancer remains.
We thank each and every one of you. We truly love you all. We will update everybody again, when there is more to tell.
With love, in Christ, Jenny, Grady and Tony Leonetti

PS: numerous people have tried to send flowers. The Mayo clinic has a strict policy that no flowers, fresh or dried are permitted anywhere near the patients. Only silk flowers are permitted. They will hold all non-silk flowers at the front desk, but they do not always inform me about them. So, I may or may not know about them to be able to pick them up and take home. T

Good morning friends, family and brothers and sisters in Christ. I personally want to thank each and every one of those who have taken the time to pray for my beautiful Jenny Leonetti. We serve an awesome God! A God of infinite miracles! A God that can do all things.
Yesterday, 15 August 2023, my Jenny was in the operating room at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. The surgeon worked from 8 am to almost 4 pm to remove over 30 lbs of malignant tumours. The outcome was not promised. Our God choose to let her LIVE! She has been given, through Him, more time! She still has cancer, and there is still some tumour activity that could not be completely removed. However, the surgeon feels comfortable that aggressive cancer treatment will be effective with the rest of the cancer tumour activity. What that looks like, we will find out. I ask you to continue to pray for her, for a speedy recovery from surgery. She needs to heal quickly so she can resume whatever treatment they have for her. Yesterday’s surgery was a success!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!
With love, Jenny, Tony and Grady Leonetti.

Hello everyone. I just want to share an update. My Jenny Leonetti is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 5:30 am pacific time. For those of you who pray, I ask you to please keep her in your prayers. This is a high risk surgery, with many opportunities for things to go very wrong. But, also many opportunities for things to go very right! It is going to be involved and likely take a lot of time. We pray that the doctor is able to correct as much as possible, and not have to abandon the surgery after he gets inside. He did say that is a possibility, but does not know until he gets there. We serve an all knowing, fully present and all powerful God. He is the Great Physician and Healer. Ultimately, we pray for Gods will, as it is perfect. Sometimes we just do not understand they why, but we do not have to. Our wishes from Jenny and me, to all of you; if anyone reading this does not know where you will spend eternity when you die, you can. Today is the day of Salvation, as tomorrow is never promised. Salvation is a free gift from God. He sent his only and only son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins. All you have to do, is truly believe.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jenny and me want for nothing more than for you to accept this free gift. We would be honoured to talk with you about this if you ever wanted to know more.
With love, Jenny, Tony and Grady Leonetti

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. From our family to yours, we want to wish all a very Merry Christmas. Thank you to my very good friend Dan at Westgate Transport for this photo, and allowing me to share it. In the essence of the meaning of this photo, our message will be just that, simple. Remember what this is all about.
1. The world was in need of a Savior
2. God sent his only begotten son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins.
3. He died for ALL
4. His saving grace can be yours today, it’s a free gift from Him.
5. All you have to do is believe.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

With much love, Tony and Jenny Leonetti
