OBJECT: To paint rocks with encouraging messages or interesting/pretty images. After decorating the rocks they are "hidden" (we would rather say "placed") all around town or anywhere you may go. Hopefully, when people find them, after receiving a smile, they will take a picture of the rock, or them with the rock, and post the picture on our page, "Moon Star Rocks Then, they may keep the rock, or better yet, rehide them for another person to enjoy. After placing our creations out, they are no longer ours and we may or may not ever see them again.
To let people know what to do when they find them we print on the back, "Post on "Moon Star Rocks" on Facebook. Then re-hide or keep." There are several other groups around now, so be sure to put this message on the back of your rocks so pictures will be posted to our group's page. We place our "creations" around Wyandotte and other nearby cities, other states and countries.
You are welcome to join us, too. No dues or meetings. Just paint and place them out there.
Members do not have to live near each other, but we will have some "painting parties" from time to time. We have had some organized painting parties for family and friends, which helps get more rocks into circulation. We want to keep putting new ones out because some who find them are not on Facebook or they choose to keep them.
The main thing is to spread smiles, love and encouragement. So...rock on!
NO RULES EXCEPT: Please do not place rocks where lawn mowers could be damaged or cause injury by hitting the rocks. Do not "borrow" rocks from other people's property, no matter how great they would look painted. 😊
There are to be NO posts regarding buying or selling painted rocks. Requests of this nature may be handled by personally messaging members, without mentioning it on our site.
We ask that no political or social issue messages be put on rocks. Inspirational messages and symbols such as cancer ribbons are fine. Our goal is to encourage and bring hope and smiles. We are a "Family Friendly" group, so keep in mind messages are to be appropriate. No nudity or vulgar language will be tolerated. Any member using these may be removed.
