As your local hosts here in Thalang, Phuket, we are incredibly excited to share some fantastic news that will bring the world of contemporary art right to our doorstep!

Phuket is proud to host the Thailand Biennale, Phuket 2025, transforming our beautiful island into a sprawling canvas of creativity from

November 29, 2025, to April 30, 2026.

Following the successful event in Chiang Rai two years ago, it's now Phuket's turn to shine, and we can't wait to welcome artists and visitors from around the globe!

This is a truly unique opportunity to experience art like never before, with 13 key pavilions and 4 breathtaking outdoor exhibition venues spread across our stunning province.

The bed bug is always a scapegoat.
Let's see 5 types of insects that could misunderstood when staying in a hotel.

Most travelers complain about hotel beds when they get skin rashes and the bed bug is always a scapegoat!!!!

These 5 insects could be bitten when you travel in a tropical country.
- Ants, Mosquito, Flea, Bed bugs, and "Sandflies"

Why the bed bug is a scapegoat?

- Ants could be but when it bites, you will see them immediately. Skin rashes are: Small itchy and itchy immediately.
- Mosquitoes also could be but the windows have a net. Except the window is open and again you could hear or will see them immediately. Skin rashes areas: Small to medium and itchy immediately.
- Flea, Bed bugs. Skin rashes areas: Large to expose body skin, itchy after and during the night.

And

- "Sandflies"!!!! Skin rashes areas: Large to expose body skin, itchy after and during the night.

Why sandflies, not bed bugs?
Our more than 10 years experience as a hotelier.
We could say that Bed bugs and fleas are nearly rare cases. When you change a bedsheet you can notice a stain on the bedsheet and no one can sleep during a single night if the room has a bed bug or fleas. Except for the hotel that you stay never change that bed sheet and not fully book for a while which is not our status. 😅

Skin rashes areas are large and itchy during the night so it makes sense that those who never knew Sandflies could think they were bitten by bed bugs.

Q: Where Sandflies from?
A: On the beach, when travelers go to a beach they expose the body to sand and at that time they are bitten. They could feel itchy but feel like Mosquito bitten. Then the night after, skin rashes appear and itchy during the night.

Q: What do we do when guests complain about that itchy.
A: Double-check to bed and bed sheet. If nothing or any stain on the bed or bedsheet it is from "Sandflies"!!!!!

How to protract from Sandflies.
Tips: Sandflies are like mosquitoes, so please use mosquito spray when do the beach. Especially in the green season, May - October.
