We won!

Congrats STRIDES Technologies (ST) for bagging the Recognition of Excellence Award from OpenGov Asia — for the transformation of Bishan Depot's overhaul workshop. 🎉

What does Depot 4.0 mean for us? By bringing new machines, AI, and smart tools into our maintenance workshops, we're modernising the depot to keep pace with the demands of a growing rail network and transforming how we work. As Andy Chiang, Managing Director of ST, highlighted in his acceptance speech, the big step into tech isn't just about improving efficiency — it also provides our workers the valuable opportunity to upskill and gain confidence in working with tech. 📈

A massive shoutout to our partners Land Transport Authority – We Keep Your World Moving and CRRC Corporation Ltd., and the dedicated ground teams who turned ideas into reality. 🙌

🇻🇳 🇸🇬 A Historic Visit to Depot 4.0

🤝 What an honour it was to receive General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tô Lâm, to SMRT’s Depot 4.0 during his state visit to Singapore.

At the state banquet to welcome the Vietnamese delegation, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam captured the spirit of both countries — Vietnam and Singapore have similar outlooks on prioritising human capital, embracing openness to the world, and committing to continued renewal.

💡 That also sums up Depot 4.0 in a sentence. Depot 4.0 is a transformative initiative to turn Singapore’s oldest train depot into a smart maintenance facility.

🤖 During the tour, President Tô Lâm was especially drawn to our automation process. He told the accompanying Vietnamese media that Singapore could be a valuable reference model as it speeds up its urban rail ambitions, and noted that digital transformation could be key to getting there.

🚆 Joining the visit was Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information. To mark the occasion, SMRT Chairman Seah Moon Ming presented President Tô Lâm with a special 1/150 scale model of our upgraded C151B train with its distinctive red-and-white livery.

🙏 Thank you to President Tô Lâm and the Vietnamese delegation for an unforgettable visit.

👏 And special thanks to our colleagues Jessie Nguyen Thuy Ngoc and Gan Li Cin for being our able Vietnamese guides.

Clockwise or anticlockwise? 🤔 The Circle Line (CCL) is about to get a whole new spin! Ahead of the full loop opening on 12 Jul, new wayfinding signs are being rolled out at selected stations, before appearing at all the CCL stations.

📢❤️ Our transit ad spaces are about to get more inspirational!

is proud to partner with Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth - MCCY to contribute up to $1 million worth of ad space across our network, helping Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) share their stories. 🌟 Funded by SMRT’s Kaizen productivity savings, we are channelling the funds into doing good! ✌️

🎨 That wasn't our only milestone today. We also signed our first MOU with the National Gallery Singapore to bring art, heritage, and culture closer to our commuters. Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Senior Minister of State for Education, Mr David Neo, reminded us of the role that the arts play in shaping national identity, strengthening our social fabric, and enriching our daily lives — all that resonate with us at SMRT.

At the launch and signing ceremony, we were charmed by an angklung performance by APSN Katong and a song by kids from Small Wonder Preschool Queenstown — Be a Kindness Hero. A great way to begin our journey together!
