Through the enactment of Republic Act 9280, the law made a Customs Broker as professional and has played a vital role on government with regard to collection of duties, taxes and other dues which defined to wit:
Sec. 4 of R.A 9280 a. Customs Broker is any person who is bona fide holder of a valid Certificate of Registration/Professional Identification Card issued by the Professional Regulatory Board and Professional Regulation Commission.
So it means Customs Brokers are highly-trained in filed on import/export trade as professionals, license by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC). They possess expert knowledge of Tariff Classification, Customs Regulations keeping abreast of the amendments made through constant changes in the law and administrative regulations.
