Life of Palm Tree Climbers 🌴
In the rural areas of Cambodia, many people depend on nature and hard daily work to make a living. One of these is the “palm tree climbers,” who climb tall palm trees every day to collect palm juice, which is later made into palm sugar or traditional drinks for sale.
Climbing palm trees is not an easy job. It is risky work, as they must climb high trees often without proper safety equipment. Under the hot sun or even in the rain, they continue their work to support their families.
The palm juice they collect is slowly boiled for hours to become delicious palm sugar, a traditional Cambodian product loved by many. This work is not only about making a living, but also about preserving culture and national identity.
