【Yokosuka/Yokohama Area】
Just a little bit like Japan’s answer to Trader Joe’s?

If you’re looking for imported foods that can be hard to find at regular Japanese supermarkets, Seijo Ishii is definitely worth checking out.
They have a great selection of cheeses, cured meats and imported foods.

I’ve been shopping there from time to time (There’s one near the womble gate in Yokosuka), but I recently discovered that Seijo Ishii also has restaurant in Yokohama.

At the restaurant, you can actually enjoy some dishes made with products sold at Seijo Ishii, and some lunch sets even come with all-you-can-eat bread. (Available at the time of our recent visit)

The only problem? 🍞😆
The first serving is very Japanese-sized🥖...so we kept asking for refills.
We lost count of how many times we asked the waiter for refills… I felt a little bad making him bring us more bread every time! 🤣

The pasta, hamburger steak and everything else we tried were delicious🩷

If you’re nearby, I definitely recommend giving it a try!

Join us for a fun and interactive sake tasting experience where you’ll learn about Japanese sake in English while sampling six carefully selected varieties.

What’s Included
A sake expert will introduce each sake, while an English interpreter explains everything clearly. Follow along with printed handouts as you learn about the different grades of sake and the unique flavors of each variety.

🍶Spend approximately 1.5 hours learning about Japanese sake while tasting 6 different varieties.

🥢Japanese snacks that pair perfectly with the sake are included.

🛍️After the tasting, enjoy some free time to browse the store. If you have any questions, the interpreter will be happy to assist you while you shop.

Do you like fluffy pancakes? 🥞 Then Belle-Ville Pancake Cafe is the place to be.

Their pancakes are incredibly light, airy and melt in your mouth.
They feel more like a dessert than a typical breakfast.

Each order is made from scratch, so your pancakes may take 10–20 minutes to arrive, but they’re absolutely worth the wait.

We ordered the famous 8-layer Millefeuille Pancakes, convinced there was no way we’d finish the whole stack!...but they were so light and fluffy that we ended up eating every last bite! 😂

And don’t forget the mochiko chicken!
When the sweetness of the pancakes starts to kick in, one bite of the savory chicken brings you right back for another bite of pancakes… and before you know it, you’re stuck in an endless sweet and savory loop.
