Tom Brett is a native of Clarinbridge, Galway - The Home of the Oyster. Tom was always looking out for some nice car to restore and in 1988 he spotted an advertisement in an English magazine “For sale a 1955 Triumph Renown”. After several phone calls a deal was done and the car was transported to Clarinbrid

ge. After two years and a lot of hard work 55 G 21 was on the road doing the odd vintage rally and Sunday afternoon runs. At first Tom started doing friends weddings, this became so popular that Tom decided to turn his hobby into a business. In 1994 Galway Vintage Car Hire was founded. Tom has taken a back seat with his son James who has taken over the vintage car hire for a promising future with plans to expand. Galway Vintage Car Hire will provide the following:

Pick up the bride at her house/Hotel

Transport her to the church, after the sermon transport to the hotel and also stop along the way for photographs

Also available red carpet and champagne.

Our story

Vintage cars have become very popular for weddings, adding colour and class to the occasion. Tom Brett is a native of Clarinbridge, Galway - The Home of the Oyster. Tom always had a love for vintage cars having first purchased a 1948 Ford Anglia from a friend in Galway City. Tom was looking for a project to restore, when he came across an advertisement in 1988 in an English magazine, “For sale a 1955 Triumph Renown”. After several phone calls a deal was done and the car was transported to Clarinbridge. Two years later and a lot of hard work, 55 G 21 was on the road again, participating in the odd vintage rally and Sunday afternoon runs. Initially, Tom started driving the Triumph Renown for friends weddings, this became so popular that a hobby was turned into a business.

In 1994 Galway Vintage Car Hire was founded. Tom has now taken a back seat, as his son James takes the steering wheel for vintage car hire with a promising future and plans to expand. James Brett Vintage Car Hire will provide the following: - Pick up the Bride at her home/Hotel.

- Transport Bride to the church, after the ceremony, transport to the hotel and we are also available to stop along the way for photographs. Red carpet also available.
