With the spirit of innovation, the 2026 student ideas including the “shared trolleys lending service for the elderly” and “pedal-powered plant watering systems” from champion teams show the possibilities of turning innovative ideas into real life solutions 🏆 While the 2024 winning idea — an onboard announcement system — is now being trialed on MTR buses to support visually impaired passengers in their journeys!

[Railway 101👷🏼Railway Dictionary: SFRC] Our Tunnel Goddess “Xihe” is carrying out construction of the down-track tunnel towards Tung Chung Station. The tunnel lining uses a brand-new material👉precast Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) instead of traditional rebar. In simple terms, the SFRC mixes a large number of fine steel fibres evenly into the concrete and forms the tunnel segments. The SFRC can enhance multi-directional tensile strength and support the tunnel structure more effectively 💪This innovative approach is especially well-suited for the complex and variable ground conditions along the Tung Chung West section tunnel❗

At the same time, it eliminates the need for conventional reinforcement works. This helps boost construction efficiency, streamline processes, reduce the carbon footprint, and support more sustainable infrastructure development🌟

🎤【活動回顧｜港鐵藝術舞臺 x 社區唱將 Canton Pop Kick-off】🎶「港鐵藝術舞臺」首次以樂隊現場演奏形式貫穿整個五月份表演，將熱血嘅Band Sound帶入車站。🎸今個月邀請咗人氣樂隊 Pandora(Pandora樂隊 ) 嚟香港站演出，將舞台由演出場地延伸到日常通勤空間，現場氣氛非常好！✨

同場仲有「社區唱將」計劃嘅新生代音樂力量，發光發亮💥包括：A² 、 EgariM 、 Mosunsun 、Sleepy Carrots，佢哋以原創同流行音樂，展現獨特音樂才華，同時為社區注入滿滿活力❤️

A smooth journey is built on all the little moments that make a difference! That’s why we pay close attention to every detail throughout your journey and continuously refurbish and upgrade our facilities 🛠️. Through these enhancements, we aim to add-value to your everyday travel 🆙!

We start from the details—enhancing different facilities to make every journey safer and smoother:

🫳🏻 Escalators: Smart monitoring devices to detect foreign objects around the clock
🛗 Lifts: New drive systems for smoother and more efficient travel
🛗 Giant Lift Stickers: Highly visible signage to help you locate lifts with ease

We have already upgraded over 40 escalators and 70 lifts with many more currently in progress*!
Giant Lift Stickers have also been installed at 85 lifts across 53 stations!
